I've heard good things about this tablet, this seems like a good price.

  • The Nokia N1 is a similar specification to the Dell Venue 8 7000 that Dell sells for A$549 currently (of course Dell provides the warranty, I can't say what value this seller's warranty is).

Oh, I almost forgot to mention the N1 features the USB Type C connector, and was one of the first Android devices to do so.

  • I'd personally avoid Nvidia chips in Android devices from now on. Google seem to persevere with using their chips but pretty much no one else will touch them. :) People must have forgot about tegra 3,4,k1 etc.

    • I may have some bias an an Nvidia fanboy, but devices that I've used personally with Tegras have been fast and (relatively) cool compared to their Snapdragon counterparts. I, for one, have a OnePlus One which gets warm randomly even when underclocked.
Compared to my Nexus 7 (2012), the Snapdragon device often gets warmer. YMMV, however.

      • You shouldn't compare tablets with phones, tablets have so much leniency with heating issues and battery efficiency because of the size and battery capacity.

That said, the current Android tablet market is geared towards budget tablets. Most, if not all, companies that are producing flagship tablets are already using Snapdragon series or their own SoC (because it's cheaper that way and it's adequate), no wonder why not many companies are jumping in for a premium tablet SoC by nVidia. Besides, the sales point of the tablets now seems to be thickness as well, and X1 and K1 consumes so much power that I doubt companies can reduce the size of the tablet with that.

So what's the verdict boys and girls?? Has anyone bought one ?? I'm pretty keen myself…. But I don't really need it

  • Read and watched several reviews, seems like a pretty good device.

It's a hard decision with Teclast X89/X89HD being very impressive in all areas that the Nokia N1 lacks. Xiaomi Mipad is pretty similar too as the others mentioned, both having ups and downs. Teclast seems like the best option. I think I might pass this one.

    • I have an x89, next tablet would be x98 bigger screen bigger battery

No SD card slot on a tablet is unacceptable IMHO - surely costs them a few cents to put one in & makes significant different to usability.

no gps no sd means no buy

      • Yep… No GPS is a big one for me.

Will have to swallow this one :(

    • It costs a few cents but they miss out on sales of bigger capacity models (the real cost).

This design works well for Apple.
