Still not as good a deal as TPG because:

    1. Uploads are counted.
    2. "No excess data charge - speed will be limited to dialup speed for the balance of a billing cycle in which either the peak or off peak data allowance is exceeded."
TPG shapes to 512/512 vs what appears to be 64/64 here on iPrimus.

      and 24months contract. -ve

Yep, 24 months is too long.

Prices can only go down and data inclusions can only go up.

  • Uploads being counted is a bad move! The TPG $49 80/80 (with 512k shaping) is definitely the way to go..

    • TPG is 60/60 for $49.99
      80/80 is $69.99

    • TPG is 60/60 for $49.99
      80/80 is $69.99

  • lol this is terrible deal. Crap Shaping, upload counts!!! NO

    Yep.

I'm on the iprimus big kahuna plan (200gig - 40on/160off 12-12peak), and I have to say the abovesaid are valid issues. The shaping is dreadful given many other isp's are now giving reasonable speed shaping, and yes upload counting is quite problematic too. Very easy to go over! Still all of that considered the above isnt a `bad' deal either, iprimus are a reliable isp with good service overall.

  • Counting uploads is a bad move and makes it that much more difficult to track your usage. I easily upload 40GB a month and that makes the plan pretty poor. Long contract too :(

What TPG and Exetel are doing is probably a better move.

the whole counting uploads concept should be banished

      • Well, we should just go unlimited like almost everywhere else in the world.

The problem is Australia's geographic separation from the rest of the world.

      • Yeah its misleading. If the advertisement says "40 gig downloads" or "200 gig downloads" that's what it should be, not 40 or 200 gig of downloads + uploads. Shouldn't be allowed to mislead like that.
