      Everything lego is expensive

        Everything lego is expensive

It is a quality product though. My kid has my Legos from the 80s and they still interlock with new bricks.

How many plastic toys last 30 years AND stay compatible with current products? I doubt MegaBlocks are going to last that long.

        • Yeah I know. Quality justifies the price.

        • +2

Toy s of the 80s always seem a lot better then the stuff the kids today play with.

        • The plural of 'Lego' is 'Lego'.

          @douglasb:

          Legoli

          And I hate Legolas

    • +10

Most advent calendars don't contain Lego.

      • Only the good ones ;)

    • those are the chocolate ones

      • +14

Most 'chocolate' ones hardly contain what can truthfully be described as chocolate.

        • -1

          a non-descript brown sugary substance….nothing more

Friends version has been as low as $30 - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/204986

    • Deal was expired, so although it may not beat it, this is a valid current deal.

    • +2

Dammit I thought this was going to be Friends the TV show and thought I had the perfect present for my wife.

      • +3

I bet you were going to keep the Rachel one…

  • What does it say about me when each time i read Advent in this deal i have to read the post

It says that you have trouble forming understandable sentences?

Ages 6 - 14.. yes it's for my child.. inner child.

got my eye on the batman carnival set for my son for xmas.

    FOR. MY. SON.

    • yes… similar story as to why I now have so much LEGO Ultra-agent and city sets hidden away for Christmas….. It's been a bumper year for LEGO 20-50% on sale, so there's enough for this year, birthday and most likely next year as well!

I still don't know who enjoys building them more, but at least it's something we do together as a team.

  • +1

Surprised the PC brigade aren't against this. Like all those weirdo hippies who say "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas!"

    • +1

      You PC bro?

      • Hell no!

    • Why? Santa and Star Wars are both fictional. Sorry kids.
If it was a Star Wars nativity scene, then maybe.

  • Do people buy lego to invest or to actually build something.

    • +3

I buy the advent calendars each year to build and photograph :) https://yaleman.org/?s=advent

      • Good hobby there!

        • +1

it's part of my own personal 12 step program for lego buying addiction - I buy these once a year and drag out the fun, so I don't spend ridiculous sums the rest of the year :D

    • both

  • +3

So, so tempted to get this for myself although I'm 38 years old….

    • -5

      Grow up mun

    • No need to worry - it's LEGO! Fun for all ages.. I'll be getting one for my kids (yeah right as if I'll let them build it haha) just like the Millennium Falcon EpVII edition Santa will be placing under our Christmas Tree this year! :)

  • This has got to be the biggest discount, long queue awaits as ozbargainers gather.

  • +2

Thanks op! I always see you guys post this deal each yr ad never actually went in to view what it was haha have been missing out all these years! Bought one for each child…the 3yo and the husband lol

  • I wonder who I just ran into at the Carindale Target…. :P

  • In store only now

  • Managed to buy one online this morning click and collect, but a colleague went down to target bourke st where I was supposed to click and collect and they dont have any there yet. Strange.

    • Being able to Click and Collect at a specific store doesn't mean they have the item there already.

      Click and Collect
We will ship your order to your nominated Target store and you will be contacted via email or SMS when your order is ready for collection. Allow 4-10 business days before pickup.

      • Yeah I know that, just found it was odd to not have any stock on the first day of the catalogue sale.

  • Was looking at these on Sun at Macquarie, before this bargain came out. Target only had a few out and they were priced at $49.95. Big W also had a few but they have them at $45 (not marked down, their normal
price). I had an Everyday Rewards 10% off deal current so I grabbed one then - worked out at $40.50. Anyone struggling to find stock in Target I suggest you try Big W as even the $45 is a good price.

    • Big W price-matched $39 for me easily. Sold out at Target, plenty at Big W with Lowest Price Guarantee price label.

  • Did the same as Max Power. Price matched at Big W, asked for proof over phone but at checkout didn't bother checking.
Just a FYI. Target Chadstone, Doncaster, Glen Waverley and Waverley Gardens are all out of stock.
Speak to the lay buys counter at Target as they took my name and number down, would call me when stock came in and would honour the $39 price.

  • Scanning @ $39 at Big W in Forest Hill, VIC. Plenty of Star Wars and Friends on the shelf. Extra 5% off with a WISH card is an added bonus!

  • just priced matched at kmart too. Thanks OP.
