My philips shaver is more than half a decade old and still going strong. Buy the replacement foils off ebay and you'll save a LOT of money. The replacements are a rip off here in Oz.

  • Hey spodosauras thats the biggest thing that shits me about my philips shaver, the cost of replacement foils.I didnt know you could buy them from ebay.Have you got a link i could use? I would almost buy this shaver instead of paying the outrageous prices for replacement foils!

They're sold in the US as Norelco - just make sure you get your four digit model number right or at least the series such as Philips Norelco HQ6 Quadra in my case.

I used to have family in the States post me replacement foils (they can get a three pack for $35 at pharmacies there, they don't sell individual foils) but I've been seeing a lot more online stores with eBay store fronts as well and have started using them instead (especially with the Aussie dollar so good). I just do an ebay search for the series of my shaver (norelco hq6) and replacement and that usually gives me a few good stores to use. Last time I used GSupply on eBay, but they're out of stock of the foils I need so I'll have to find another supplier when I need new foils. You can get Braun replacements, too. Just watch out for the shipping charges, some places really gouge with those.

      • Thanks heaps mate! I'll look into this ASAP cause i reckon my foils needed replacing months ago hence my woeful designer stubble haha

  • This is a great price. I bought this the other day to replace my Braun. The Braun foils costs as much as this new shaver. The 2 year warranty is a big plus.

It's nice to hold and use but it doesn't seem to give me as close as shave compared to my Braun.

Very happy with it though its not washable and doesn't come with a protective hard case. Just a small plastic clip cover to protect the foils.
