    Wouldn't surprise me if they change the giveaway conditions that you need to keep the account open for a few months before receiving the reward. They do that sort of thing in the private health insurance industry all the time too.

  I haven't qualified for the sign-on bonus yet but commenters on previous posts mentioned issues with waiting weeks or months before getting their card. I signed up on September 17 and had my card on September 25 (after doing manual verification at Post Office) so no issues for me. Their phone staff seem helpful and no waiting in a phone queue either of the two times I called. No complaints so far.

        You did make the required amount of appropriate $10 purchases from the account within the required time frame?. It's not as much as just opening the account you must also have made the required amount of minimum $10 purchases (through the Mastercard debit card i believe).

        As an Infidel, I doubt I am in anyone's 'target socio-demographic' ;-)

        I was a new member, spent according to the requirement before the final date, then waited about 6 weeks after that for payment this week.

  Do they really think someone wanting to save $50 and come with a non-mainstream bank will be an Apple user? Serious?

  Although they say 'Successfully Applied', they actually mean 'Fully Opened'. From experience, if you are unable to get approved online and have been told that you need to visit an Australia Post outlet to show proof of ID, you will not get the $50 Gift Card as they will delay the application. Be warned!
