I don't normally post these, but Monkey Shoulder is an awesome Scotch Blend and deserves some attention. And yes it's better than Chivas IMHO.

Dan's originally had these on sale for $42.90 in their Father's Day catalogue so First Choice Liquor decided to price beat. (And not by Dan's piss ant 5 cents savings) 90 cents is a reasonable price beat.

Oh and Dan's have beaten that price now by (you guessed it) 5 cents. $41.95

I know there are cashback opportunities with Dan's but I'm still not impressed by their Price-Beat mockery. Buy this one from First Choice and it'll taste much sweeter.

      I checked Dan's a week ago and it was retailing for over $50.00 but, then again that's Dan's for you.

      Trust me $42.00 is as cheap as this one goes. I nearly drunk a 1L bottle of Bundy Red waiting for this to reach my price point and I need to get that taste off my palate.

        Very sure last time i bought it at Dan's (quite a whole ago) it was a smidge less, maybe $40. Not a bad blend.

    got one once for $31.35 from vintage cellars when they had 20% off and it was on sale already now that was a good buy , I like to keep a bottle for daily drinking sometimes think has been 2 for $80 at 1st choice. Is good if you have any flybuys dollars to bring it down even more

        don't know if it should have been part of the deal and why it worked on 3 bottles! but got all 3 for $157.73 and free delivery for over $150

    And I'd rather spend $5 in petrol driving past Dan's instead of saving 5 cents. Just on principle.

        I suppose calling them price beats is a bit misleading. It's more like a price match, but I don't see why hate on it? We can use cashrewards so in the end we still benefit right? For me Dan's is the most convenient especially if I can get a free shipping code

          Yeah I don't hate DM, I enjoy their members offers each month. Just their regular prices on the shelf I have found to be more expensive on a few occasions which is frustrating as you expect them to be cheapest. The cash rewards is great too, although the rewards have not tracked on a few occasions for me which is again very frustrating.

      Completely agree, its actually pretty funny how people bang on about Dans Most places just match prices but Dan beating by 5c gets peoples backs up. How dare a place do a little bit better than just matching lol People here are cheering because a place beat something by 90c lol times must be tough.

      The same people jump on every alcohol deal on ozbargain and mention to people dan will 'beat it' effectively advertising for Dan whilst trying to make dan sound bad. Always good for a laugh, now im off to save 30c from woolies on a bag of chips that coles is selling for more….

    Bought 2xMS for $80 only a couple of weeks ago at 1st choice. $45 was the single price at that time. Don't think I have ever paid more than $45 using boozle.com.au and price beat.

    It is worth noting this is a blended malt whisky which is not the same as a blended whisky such as JW or Chivas that is single malt whiskies combined with grain whiskies.

    That distinction was important when 1st Choice had a single malt whisky sale late last year and Monkey Shoulder was included (with some prompting). I picked up half a dozen bottles for $36 each 😀.

    I like Monkey shoulder, its a good scotch but having been to Dufftown it brings back good memories of driving through the Speyside region on holiday.

    Completely OT but there is a saying they have there. Rome was built on seven hills, Dufftown was built on seven stills.
