Seems like buying anything on sale will disqualify you from the promo :/

    • They say that on all cashback promo's but cashback seems to still work, they can't control retailers pricing. So for example the Current sony sale on the A5000 Which was on sale still had cashback on it as did the a6000 :)

      • they can't control retailers pricing

Good point, it all comes down to how hard Sony will enforce that term :o hopefully they don't expect people to pay RRP for their products because that would be madness.

        • Typically those clauses are for staff discounts, etc. Staff that may (for instance) pay only cost price plus 5%, don't get the added benefit of cashback and the like.

  • Can these TV's stream back to your iphone/ipad like the Panasonics ?

    • By the looks of it yes with the new Android Smart TV'S

      • I read that Google Cast can stream from your phone to the TV, but can't see that you can do it the other way around…

    • Why would you want to stream from a 60" screen to a 5" screen?

      • So I can watch TV on my iPad when someone else is watching 'The Batchelor' or 'Housewives of Pakenham'…

    • I have one of these TVs and have been through all the menus and settings - haven't seen anything like what you're asking for.

It does support DLNA, so I imagine it would let you stream recorded content to your device. However the TV doesn't yet support USB recording. It was meant to come in an update in June. Still waiting.

  • +2

Avoid these TVs they're garbage. Bought a KDL65W850C a few weeks ago and had it replaced after a week due to large vertical dark sections, second one has the same problem so it's being replaced with a Samsung this week, any panning shots it looked like the screen was dirty, very distracting. The software is very buggy and after the automatic firmware update on Friday I tried to watch TV and it said "Feature Not Available", switching inputs shows a black screen until you switch back and forth several times, TV guide is always empty, Google cast stops working from time to time, very blurry for gaming, took 3 days to download updates for about 6 apps.

    • Wow doesn't sound good especially after Sony's killer 2014 models
