  • +3

I saw it in perth, i guess watching the bronco and rabbits. so i guess it is nation wide

    • Huh?

Thanks leyton. Was going to post this a few hours ago but had visitors rock up at the worst possible time lol.

Here's a video of the ad recorded during the 6 o'clock news. May come in handy. Cheers buddy.

  • Will buy concrete, thanks

Someone told you to harden up?

      • +15

        You're just being a trowel now….

      • +11

        I don't think that's what cement.

      • +5

        I think there's been a bit of a mix up here…

        • +4

Dunno what the mix up would be about, the T&Cs of the deal are clearly set in stone

      • +2

        Rub it in why doncha.

        • Messy.

    • Is that for an Italian job :p

  • Will use the $100 gift card, which cost $85, from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/205588

  • Will this work with their ebay store?

    • No.

In a weird way I hope Master survives, but keeps bleeding money and never manages to be competative with Bunnings. Otherwise Masters will stop offering juicy discounts on a regular basis. Bunnings never has to resort to such tricks to attract customers.

Same with BigW. Many offers recently for gift cards worth up to 20% of the total purchase price, 10% weekend discounts, etc. BigW isn't bleeding money like Masters, but it's under performing badly.

    • +1

and the moment masters stop offering discount theres 0 reasons to go there. Even now i never go there unless there is at least 10% off, even then i still have to go to bunnings cause masters never carry everything i want.

i just hate the clinical feel of masters.. the uniforms.. the ginger on their main poster who kinda looks like the devil smiling (I'm part ginger shh). they told me they don't keep boxes for customers to use because they get too messy.. err ok.. am I in a hardware store or a pharmacy ffs

        • +2

i just hate the clinical feel of masters

This. Being in bunnings with the 'rough' layout makes you feel manly lol

    • Woolworths deserves everything they get. I have received crap customer service on a return from Masters and noticed the other day Big W trying to get 50 cents for a binder that had all tears and rips in it - crap any Wesfarmers store would've thrown in the bin. Well I am looking forward to Woolworths new owner as this percentage off crap is a repeat of what Coles Myer/Coles group done before the Wesfarmers buyout.

  • Today I received an offer to get $20 voucher when I spent $100 with my everyday rewards card (Targeted offer?) .

    Funny about the offer

To shop online visit www.masters.com.au and enter your Everyday Rewards card number at the checkout when you spend $100 or more online. Then you'll receive your unique voucher via email to spend on your next online purchase

    In conditions it says

Offer excludes appliances, delivery, installation, online purchases…

So do I really get it if I purchase online !! 😄

    Title is catchy. Can be read as;

Buy a Masters $20 Giftcard, Spend $100(on same giftcard)

thats a lot of concrete :)

  • got 20 bags of sandpit sand. came to almost 6$ for a 20kg bag after discount. thanks :)

    • +3

You could have purchased 0.5m3 of sandpit sand for $34 + $20 delivery.

      0.5m3 = approx 700kgs of sand or 35 bags.

Not to mention all the effort to physically move the bags.

      • from where can i get that? if so, i'll try to cancel my order! i ask because the places i looked at all had sand about 8 to 10$ for 20kg.

        • Call your local garden supply place, I.e. soil, mulch, rocks, sand.

        • yes for example www.alllandscapesupplies.com.au (brisbane) have 1/2 cube for $35.
(double-check first the sand is 'clean'/ok for sandpit)

i think bunnings lend you a trailer free for two hours if you buy something big/long.
consider this 'work-around' for diy delivery. :)

having said all this, 20kg bags can be pretty convenient if the sandpit is in a hard-to-reach area and you are without a wheelbarrow.

Buy $100 item get voucher than return the $100 item. Profit?

    • +2

Nope they mark on the receipts the gift cards. So if you return the item they demand the gift card back too. At least that's what they did last time with $15 per $100

      • -2

Use gift card before return 100 dollar item

        • +1

Then they won't return the item if there's nothing wrong with it, or they'll take off $20

      • the small print confirms this is correct

        • U can return items without receipt and get a in store voucher.

  • Just saw on TV in Queensland.

Lucky someone still watches FTA TV. ;)

  • +1

unless they've changed recently, the masters gift card can be used as a regular wish gift card ;)

  • Has anyone figured out how to use it with this masters deal?
    JAWZILLA https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/208930

  • Small print confirms only one $20 card per transaction.
Would have to split purchases in to $100 transactions to get multiple. It doesn't say only one per day or anything.

  • Did this today in NSW. Thanks for the heads up today OP!

  • Went in today and bought a few thing, split them into 3 transactions and got 3 gift cards.
Also made them price beat bunnings on an $85 tin of paint as it was 10c cheaper at bunnings so they had to beat it by 10%.

  • Buying Worx high pressure cleaner with underbody nozzle. Using Wish Gift Card 5% off from Entertainment Book, and then order everything online by going through CashRewards and also the 5% promo code.

I bought my concrete click and collect..

They sent me a $20 promotional code…..? Was expecting a gift card that I could combine with a 10% off promo code later on. What's the deal?

    • "If you shop in store we will give you a free $20 Gift Card. If you shop online, we will send you a promo code for $20 off your next purchase."

      • Ok thanks, missed that.

Love the neg too, whoever that was

  • Oh man. Like I needed another excuse to spend dough at Masters. I have one within walking distance and always end up going there on my days off.

  • do they still have that $99 drill deal?
