Saw some Telstra $2 Pre-Paid on clearance at Brandon Park Kamrt this morning. There were still at least 20 in stock when I was there this morning.
Looks like standard size sim to me though.
Don't know whether it's the same at other store though.

Do you mean Micro? I don't think nano is possible to cut down, maybe depends on the size of the contacts for the particular sim?
Just Google the templates. You cut off bits of the contacts, but still works. My preference is to get a blank nano SIM from a Telstra Shop and transfer, as the nano SIM is also thinner and in some cases like with the iPad Air, becomes very tight to put in and take out.

I went there and somebody bought out the whole shopping centre and was flogging it off on gumtree !!!
Coles had $1 telstra sims and 10% off recharge,
standard size is fine. you can cut it down into a nano. (sharp knife + sandpaper/file) (if one doesn't have uncoordinated butter fingers)
