Most of the drop zone items are well below cost (Big W essentially wrote off the last FY to do this). It's just to clear their back of house and transition to their new priorities.
Not true. Look at Lego. Large sets discounted by 50% in the initial drop zone. Sets that would fly off the shelves at 20-25% off. Because BigW never do % off sales on toys, the stuff sits there as you can set your watch by a 20% off sale at Target or Myer. Just poor store practice means they took a loss on all that stuff.
Never seen any Lego in the drop zone at my nearest Big W.
I wish though.
