Great price, but if you're not after one urgently I'd wait. At this rate it wont be long before we see 500GB ones for the sub $100 range

I think it'll be a while for that but still is worth the wait if you don't need one. Can always grab a 128 for OS for $60 and wait for a 500+ for

How long away is that? Weeks? Months?

      • probably a couple of months I guess, when the multi terabyte ones become more mainstream. But you could always go down the path endlless suggest above too

        • Yep I want one of those 2tb and ones

  • Are these equally as reliable as Samsung SSDs?

    • Better.

      • Big call….considering this stress test

Regardless, SanDisk-Toshiba are one of the major flash memory manufacturers and it appears that these may be using a Marvell controller combined with a 19nm MLC nand (a good thing), never a bad combination. It would be safe to say that the SanDisk Plus SSD will be reliable, you will most likely run out of storage before you wear out its writes.

        • You've gotta look more at things like power loss protection, many can lose data quite easily in the event of sudden power loss.

        • @dyl: hence I have used Crucial M550 and MX100 SSDs lately

    • intel > samsung > rest

Except that Intel was the only brand of SSD that did not work in my laptop where Sandisk, Kingston & Samsung all worked fine.

edit, the point I was making (which may have been misinterpreted) is that in my experience with Intel SSDs no amount of quality or performance would overcome the simple fact that it was somehow incompatible with the device I was using it in. An issue that was not there when using other, similarly priced and performing SSDs. The only consideration then became reliability/longevity something that was unproven at the time, be it was Intel or another brand. In short, all things being equal the Intel was not a viable option through a fault that can only be it's own. I don't buy Intel SSDs anymore because of both the price and the possibility it simply will not work in the device I intend to use it in. YMMV.
