Isn't Amazon cheaper?
Have you tried checking out and seeing what the total comes to with shipping and currency converter?
Should I go for the 240GB SSD at $106 or do you think it will come down further later?
It has been $5-10 cheaper before, which is why I didn't list them specifically.
Depends if you really want it.
oh ok thanks for the reply, I think I can wait for another week or so.
Sandisk Plus or Ultra II? Which ine better?
Ultra II
ah dam just bought the plus version…in what way the ultra is better?
The read and write speeds are a little faster. For normal usage though, I wouldn't worry. It's not very noticeable.
Good price. I paid similar for the sammy pro from amazon recently and it just arrived.
I have had this SSD (480GB) for 1 year now and I paid $245. Hasn't given me any problems, the software that comes with the SSD is pretty standard which shows you the SSD's life expectancy, and the read speeds are exceptional!
It has a 3 year warranty.
How much usable space on each (480 & 960) after formatting & allowing something for over-provisioning? Do you feel that's still necessary if they're supposedly already set up with slack space for garbage at the factory?
Also, is this sliding of prices likely due to new, better & cheaper tech coming soon— better deals moving forward, or "once it's gone, it's gone" older stock here?
Deciding whether to jump or wait, as I was going to reinstall my son's uni laptop & the SSD would be a welcome boost— except I'm eyeing the 960 & it's still (for me) a lot of money…
Opinions?
Cheers
Not an expert, but from my experience around 10% of storage for that, and maybe another 10% to ensure performance is optimal?
And I don't think this is their last stock. New SSD's aren't due that soon..
Hope this helps a little. Maybe someone else can jump in and clarify.
I jumped.
960GB. Hope I decided right, as money is tight, yet my son is at the end of a dual-degree in computer science/computer engineering. I want him to have what it takes to succeed. All he does is travel back & forth to uni (2 hrs ea way). His laptop is the one I arranged 4 yrs ago. I plan to buy him a top one next year at graduation. When I do, will shift this drive (assuming longevity).
;)
anyone had their order ship yet?
Still waiting & hoping SE hasn't let us all down…
Great deal, thank you.
