Went to Officeworks planning to get the SanDisk 2TB Extreme Portable SSD V2 for $349. Shelf tag showing $399 for the other color. https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/sandisk-2t…

Checked on Amazon hoping it is cheaper and Officeworks will reduce it further with their price guarantee.

I stumbled upon the PRO version with faster transfer speed and $50 cheaper than the one I was planning to buy.

When I bought the item this afternoon, it was selling for $308.57 in Amazon so Officeworks sold the Sandisk Expansion Pro SSD for $293.14 (5% discount - price beat guarantee).

Checking online now, Amazon reduced it further to $304.78. You may get this 5% cheaper if Officeworks keeps their $499 selling price.

Are these the ones that suddenly die?

Not cheap enough to risk it.

  • I'm no tech expert so I had to ask my brother who has a computer shop to choose for me and only from Officeworks (I'm using my flybuys points to purchase). I was in a hurry to get one quick to back up 2 mobile phones I need to send for repair as uploading years of photos online takes forever.

I could have gotten 60,000 Flybuys points (equal to $30) had I used my Flybuys rewards to buy 3 x $100 Officeworks gift card —- then buy the SSD!

Personally I've been using SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD 2TB (Model #: SDSSDE61-2T00
) since 2022 and I'm very happy with it. I've upgraded to the Samsung T7 Shield lately as I need more storage space (4TB T7 shield for $449 at JB Hi-Fi).

Post I've made earlier this year.

    extreme money waste

Still no. I do my best not to be brand loyal nor hold grudges, but when it comes to data, big nope on SanDisk SSD and Seagate HDD. Not worth.
