Bought these for $141 at MSY about 4 weeks ago..

  • Was was this removed as a duplicate and now back up again?

  • Is it compatible with Lenovo E73 Small Form Factor ?
If so, Kingston Hyperx FURY slows to 1600 MHz ?

    • +1

RAM will happily slow down as long it is the right type (ddr3, etc..)

It doesn't use notebook ram does it?

      • As some small form factor PC's nowadays use notebook RAM, some use desktop RAM. I am not 100% sure if Lenovo E73 SFF uses notebook or desktop RAM. However, according to Lenovo specs:

        Memory
        Module Spec: PC3-12800
        DIMM Slots :2 (UDIMM)
        Type : DDR3
        Speed : 1600 MHz
        Modules Types Supported : 2GB/4GB/8GB
        Memory Supported : 2GB / 4GB /6GB /8GB 10GB/12GB/16GB
        Bandwidth : up to 12.8GB/s
        PIN Count : 240
        Voltage (Nom) : 1.5V

240 pin is full sized desktop ram. The Kingston ram in the link will work fine. :)

    • +1

It will work, I have opened up the E73 (the one I mention in the comments of that post - ie exactly the one I posted in the deal) and it takes standard DDR3 dimms and there are two slots. The RAM will run at 1600 happily.

  • is it 115 shiped to Australia or 115 aud + shipping

    • +1

      115 shipped

      • It's $119 for me. People should actually add it to cart instead of using the converter.

        • +1

Cheaper if you let your bank or card convert it.

        • +1

I put it through as USD and let my card convert it, came out as $115.30.

  • The CAS latency for this is 10 @ 1866, 9 @ 1600, would getting a kit with 7 @ 1600 make any difference for gaming?

    • +2

      Nah

I run Team Xtreem 2133mhz 10-10-10-30 1.5v, but I've OCed it to 2133mhz 9-9-9-24 1.6v. Can't answer your question though lol, just wanted to brag.

    • +5

I've been OC'ing my ram for as long as I've been gaming (a looooong time) and honestly, I've never noticed a lick of difference.

What's important is your GFX card, cpu and installing on a SSD. Ram speed is a distant 4th after that.

      Hope that helps!

    • +1

There will be next to no difference (ie you will never notice it) if you have a motherboard that can run the 1866 CL10 speed. Even if you are talking 1600 CL9 vs CL7 you would still be very hard pressed to notice any difference.

But bragging rights are on the line! If you are willing to run the RAM at slightly higher voltages you may still be able to get 1866 CL9 or 1600 CL8 with this kit…but it will be luck of the draw and with the little benefit would you bother?

  • Would these work in an HP N40L Microserver?

  • Thanks mate, just grabbed a set :)

    • No worries :)

  • I got 2 sets to replace my RAM & max my board :) great price.

  • How are Amazon with returns? I've had a bit of bad luck with RAM on my current build, so I'm a bit hesitant to go for it over local options.

    • Amazon's warranty process is excellent for Australia.
