  • A price would be nice.

The price of the books themselves vary according to region, so I can't really say, but most people know the price of their books. I can't tell what you save on shipping 'coz it just shows $0.00 on the buy page now… I don't know what it was before.

Do I need to go through all the relevant links to find the best value ?
Does anyone know who is cheapest ?

Er… you do know what Entertainment Book is, right? They're all the same price regardless of which seller you go with. There's not really any scope for getting them "cheaper" unless you manage to somehow find somebody selling them at cost price, but if you're doing that then free shipping is hardly your concern since only people with the books on hand can offer that…

          @zzyss: Thanks

          Edit:
$55 to $70 Depending on region. Digital version is the same price as the printed book.

  • Or you could buy the digital version and not need to pay for shipping?

    • Will businesses accept a digital version or must they be printed out ?

      • They just redeem on your phone. I believe there were a few businesses that were not in the digital version last year that were in the book (Sydney) but not sure for this year.

      • They will accept it on the phone - the redemption process involves showing the store a code generated from the Entertainment App, which they're supposed to note down and pass back along to Entertainment to track usage.

    • Some people favour the book rather than the digital version. Everyones different mate.

    • The only down side to the digital version is that you can't participate in voucher swaps and get extras of the ones that you want and get rid of the ones you don't. Otherwise you can only redeem an offer once (or whatever the number of redemptions allowed are), since the shop needs to record the redemption code. I guess some places might have untrained staff, etc. who don't bother… but anyway, this is just how it's supposed to work.

I mean, this is popular enough to have its own forum on OzBargain:

      • The downside to the book is it's huge and heavy!! Still a sucker for it though.

        • Can't argue with that :-)

I just keep it in my car glovebox so I can always run and grab it if I need it. Works well most of the time.

        • Yeah we keep ours in the car too. Sometimes just take individual voucher, but if need to go back for it for whatever reason (feel like desert elsewhere, store is closed/renovation) it's annoying, but then lugging the whole book around is annoying too- it does make the app very appealing.

  • I purchased the digital version for the first time this year as i wanted some David Jones eVouchers quick.
I must say, I am very impressed with the quality of the app.
I think it will enable me to redeem more vouchers this year. (and enabled me a $100 saving from an online DJ purchase)

You can have on 2 devices, but only redeem from one device at once.

As mentioned above, does just stop swapping vouchers with friends.

The digital vouchers are great when you're already somewhere for dinner and you pull out the app to see "just in case" there's a voucher and bingo! I've saved quite a few dollars that way. It's good for people not so great with planning ahead (like me!). I haven't had an issue with a restaurant not accepting it yet. They just press the "Redeem" button once you bring up the voucher. The only issue I've had is where they wandered off with my phone for 5 minutes to try and work out how to redeem the voucher.

  • I thought someone had posted this already, but I must have misread the site in my RSS feeds.

  • What's the current entertainment book discount on Woolworths / Wish Gift cards? Is is any better than the 5% discount you can get at Cashrewards etc?

    • Yep 5% for Woolies and most other cards.

David Jones is 10%, which is great to stack with sale prices.

    • 5% as mentioned above, but at least twice a year in recent memory, they have had the Big W 7.5% off sales…

  • You can have the digital app on up to four devices. Works very well when you are travelling and don't know the area well.
