These have been around $20 before .. sometimes even lower on clearance,
worth waiting for another sale, if you don't need one straight away

    • Sometimes it doesn't hurt to wait for a better price or the same as the last sale when you're in the need of buying one (like my situation).

    • I am looking for an 8 way non night light version, but all of those you linked to were more than a year ago.

    Network Ready Surge Power Board

What do you mean by "Network Ready"?

I can access and control the power board through my home network?
    Does it come with software?

"No question is a stupid question!" According to product description from DS site - The Dick Smith 8 Way Network Ready Surge Power Board provides surge protection for 8 mains outlets as well as a TV coaxial cable socket and a broadband connection.

      • It has network pass-through with surge protection, it has no smarts so there is nothing for you to access from you home network

  • I got one of these in the last rewards coupon offer.

It comes with USB ports…but fails to be ready for any network action.
Handy as a nightlight as well.

    • These have nowhere close to the same capacity to deal with a power surge.

The Connexia ones are only rated for 525J protection. These DSE ones are 2000J.

  • I have a lot of devices and got stuck buying a 12 port HPM from bunnings for $42. No master switch, just outlets.

  • The 1675J single outlet with phone passthrough is only $11.02 if you already have a power board. http://www.dicksmith.com.au/adaptors-power/dick-smith-surge-…

    • Only rated for 450J though…
