Telstra $30 Prepaid Starter Pack - $15 + $10 Cash Back from CashRewards/PricePal

1420

$30 Pre-Paid SIM Starter Kit for $15 + $10 cashback from CashRewards here & free delivery.

Includes a single SIM in all sizes: Full Size, Micro and Nano

Enjoy!

MOD: PricePal is also offering the same $10 cashback for Telstra Prepaid SIM. See this merged comment. Basically

  • This deal is about Telstra $30 Prepaid SIM sold for $15
  • $10 cashback from affiliate network is available from either CashRewards or PricePal, independent from this deal.

Cashrewards has emailed me the receipt of the purchase however stating $8 cash back was processed. I guess it is a typo as I logged into my account and saw $10 cashback in my rewards balance.

      • Oh really? Will have to topup my other card and try it tomorrow!

      • Is it 3 per credit card, per day? or 3 max for any card regardless?
Just tried to buy a 4th and got 'sorry' message and no email confirmation.

        • I'd also like to know the answer to this question.

What I can feedback is that I used one of my credit cards in the previous deal so it's at least once every three months: it may be more frequently reset to once every week or day?

  • +1

last time cashrewards/Telstra just cancelled the orders I made.

    • -1

      What happened?

  • Does the cashback appear back in your back account as a credit? Curious as to how they provide the money back to you. Either way, bought, thanks OP.

    • +2

Yeah, it appears as a credit in your CashRewards account which you can "cash out" to your nominated bank account (minimum cash out amount is $5).

  • +1

    thank you.

    edit :/
Sorry, but the shop is currently unavailable.

    • Getting the same thing "Sorry, but the shop is currently unavailable."

      • same

  • After I enter the Home address, I can't go to next steps. Is anyone else facing the same issue??

  • There was a similar deal back in May. Just an FYI, I am still waiting for the cashback (Telstra yet to release the money).

    • Same here. Mine was back May as well. Just sent them an email asking what's happening.
Also i checked my Pricepal account as well, which was during the same time and it shows Est. Payment Date: Sept.

      So yeah…

Update: Sent Cashreward an email and they've updated my May transaction.
      Wooohooo!!
Now i need to ask what's going on with my June transaction =\

  • First try purchasing it and got a 'Sorry' message, stating that my order can not be processed.
However I have received an email stating that my order has gone through, so unsure of which is the case.
I do have 16 prepaid accounts in total (2 of which are primary, the rest are slated for decommissioning)

    • Same here. The order failed but I got the email that it went through. I only have one account. I'm not sure whether my order went through now or not…

      • Of the 6 purchases I made, Telstra has just sent me 4 email updates stating that they are on the way, which happen to be for the last 4 of the purchases. The first 2 received 'sorry' messages, but got a confirmation email though.
Might have to contact Telstra about the first 2 and see what's up with them.

        • Had the same issue here. Hope you have a better time contacting Telstra than I do. It was like pulling teeth, but hopefully I'm getting a refund now.

  • booyah!
    gonna start playing hearthstone

anyone know what else is good to use it for?

  • telstra site not working anymore for me

    did we break it lol?

  • "For security reasons, you'll need to take delivery of this order yourself, and show the same ID you used to order online." Yeah. Ill just wait at home for two days to sign.

    • Yes I saw it in the receipt email too. Anyone who bought before can confirm? can family members sign for delivery cos I won't be home.

      • Last time, They din't allow my family member to sign and accept delivery.

      • I was at work when the delivery came. My wife asked me to send her my drivers license otherwise the Toll guy wouldn't hand the parcel to her.

Edit: This was with the last batch of offers.
Also I think it depends on the driver as well.

    • So if you miss delivery you can just pick it up at the PO?

      • I hope so. I know with my Dan Murphy's delivery you could not, i had to re-route.

      • +1

        Yep.
That's what I did with 1 parcel that arrived the next day and no one was home.

      • Yes, you can. Show you id in PO and you will get the item.

    • Same kind of deal as this except this one is through Cashrewards.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/205519

    • Does the bonus 20 only work if you are a new pricepal customer? Or will existing customers get it too?

      • $20 bonus for new customer of pricepal.

    • Hi cniminc,

Just wondering if the PricePal cashback is also paid once per checkout like CashRewards?

i.e. can I purchase two or three sim cards and get $20 or $30 back?

      Thanks

      • Cash back is per order. So order 3 sim in 3 order and ull get 3 cash back ie 30$.

  • does cash rewards work while browsing with mobile?

    • Wouldn't recommend it as I'm not sure they accept Cookies.
Best to do it on a PC and make sure adblocker/pop up blocker are all disabled and Enable all Cookies and have other browser closed.

Just to be on the safe side.

  • when I go through pricepal it redirects to the normal shop so its not $15. anyone know to work it?

    • +1

It has writing at the bottom which says 50% off.

Edit 1: I think you are correct.

Edit 2: Found solution. Find telstra prepaid on pricepal, scroll to end of the page and you should see pink starter pack logo with "Save 50% On Telstra…" writing. Click on it and it should take you to discounted starter pack.

  • This deal is horseshit, don't think doing this is smooth sailing. I ordered 3 sims last time this deal was up and telstra has straight up not delivered them. God knows at this rate if cash rewards is going to give me the cashback if they ever do get delivered. Smells fishy all over. Even the rewards page for your account, there is still nothing there even though ive already made the transaction to buy those sims. The money has been deducted from my account and yet the site still hasnt registered it !?!

  • I just got my first Cash Rewards of $8 payment come through (redeemable) off the last deal a couple of months back. The last deal they ended up increasing the cashback to $12, I may pull the trigger again if they increase to $12 this time round.

  • +1

Just received my receipt from my order/s yesterday for the Telstra starter Kit from CR.

Anyone receiving an email showing "Expected Cashback: $8?" Rather than the $10 as promoted?

UPDATE: They've updated and now showing $10 on my account :)

  • Received an email from cash rewards.. $8 cashback expected.
Why not $10 as the offer states?

    • Yeah, I just sent the support an email.
Might be a good idea to send them one yourself so they know they've screwed up.

      • have done also.

      • Interesting… I bought one yesterday, and another today. The email for yesterday is showing $8, the one for today is $10.

  • I got a $8 cash back email from cash rewards will have to follow them up

  • email says $8 but my account shows $10, I have sent them an email anyway.

  • after emailing cash rewards they have changed it from $8 to $10

    • +7

Andrew here from Cashrewards, sorry there was a bug in the program, now fixed with all accounts that were showing the $8 changed to $10

      • cheers.

      • thanks, saves me from chasing this up individually like I thought I would have to, and adding to the flood of emails on the same subject :)

  • When do we have to activate these sims?

    • +1

Before the expiration date that printed at the back of the package. Last time I got around Feb 2017 from Telstra.

  • How long does it take for cashback to appear as tracking?

    • +1

Ordered yesterday and got confirmation email today. So about one day.

      • Cheers, fingers crossed.

      • Hmm, haven't received any emails from cashrewards regarding the 6 sims I bought on the 4th? Should I be concerned?

  • happen to get my $8 from the last cashback yesterday, though did have to request it manually.

  • yah, still got $8 buddy bonus with Pricepal so I basically make money with the purchase.

  • Is it still available? Clicking the $30 starter kit on the Telstra website says it costs $30, not $15.

    • Yes. Please follow the instruction at op. You will see the correct product.

      • OK, it's working for CashRewards, but not PricePal.

        • Pricepal is also working.

        • @cniminc:
When will they send me the tracking receipt after i have placed the order?

        • @kirazsiu: Usually i get this in 3-7 days. But best to check with pricepal. Email them and they should be able to help you.

        • @cniminc: I have received a sorry message when I placed the order. But I have received the invoice. I am thinking whether the sorry message influences the cashback or not.

        • @kirazsiu: i got this too. did you receive your order and/or cashback?

(I placed 2 orders on 10/08/15, both said sorry could not be completed, but I received the order invoice in my email and credit card charged. Haven't got any shipping confirmation though.)

  • Delivery was fast. It was attempted and is now waiting for me at the PO.

  • +1

Anyone else getting a 'Delivery attempt unsuccessful. Reason: STOP DELIVERY RTS' status with their delivery? I was at work, but haven't been left a card at all.

    • +1

Did you get an email from Telstra saying the order failed? That happened to me last time, even though all 3 of mine were on their way, they recalled all 3 even after the delivery driver collected them. Upon delivering, said driver must have noticed the new status and so sent them back up the delivery network to Telstra. Telstra wanted me to appear in person at one of their stores for ID confirmation. Totally defeats the purpose of online shopping.

      • Did you get an email from Telstra saying the order failed?

Nope, latest email I've received from Telstra is the one with the tracking link.

        • Looks like you're going to have to ring them up to find out what's going on. I wonder how much delivery costs for each sim card they ship.

      • Are you a new customer or an existing prepaid customer?

      • I got the same thing! Went to PO and it is noted: return to Telstra! I didn't receive any sorry message or cancellation from Telstra at all.
        Don't understand why!!!

    • Me too. I called start track, it said sender (telstra) requested to send it back. I have to call telstra and ask what happened.

    • I got the same message on the tracking. I talked to the online chat and while they could not tell me the specific reason why, they did give me the option of either a refund or having another one sent out when they receive the returned one back.

    • +3

Telstra saying the order is cancelled. If I still want them to replace the order, I have to go to telstra shop to verify my identify with a number of ridiculous documents, including employment payslip. WTF, it's a prepaid starter kit not a post-paid contract. I am not going to do that. I guess they just change the mind not winning to sell it at $5. So they put all those troubles to you.

      • Yeah, I'm getting a refund. Not worth the hassle.

    • Same with me Dude, waiting 30 mins at my post office to know that the parcel has been sent back to the sender.

Called startrack and then they told me to call telstra.

waiting for more than 30 mins for telstra to clarify stuff and then they told me that the order is being cancelled LOL

      • Nothing to say about telstra, I just ordered one sim, and they cancel the order. Do you receive any email saying refund? I didn't receive any further email.

        • nope I didnt get any email. I called them, they said it is cancelled. Yes, waiting for 2x 30 mins to know that my order is cancelled.

        • @fomal: Have you got your refund from this yet? I'm still waiting for it.

        • @PrinceHairy: no i havent, do you think it is faster to do a chargeback from my cc?

        • @fomal: lol probably, it took 5 weeks to receive my refund

  • Got a text message saying they had been stopped.

  • Tried placing an order but got this:
    Sorry, <name>
Your order cannot be processed at this time. For assistance, please contact our customer care on 1800 830 003 or visit your nearest Telstra store.

    Hmmm…

  • everytime i click the link from CashRewards/PricePal to get re-directed to Telstra for this deal my web browser crashes. wtf, using Chrome on OSX 10.7 (yes its old)
    update: never mind, Safari works

  • is it normal for your cashrewards balance to still show as zero several hours after purchasing?

    • It takes up to 24 hours for cashrewards to add the cash to your account. You will receive an email notification for the confirmation.

      • balance is still $0. There never seems to have evenbeen any acknowledgement from cashrewards that i purchased something even though i went to the telstra store via the link on their website

  • Well I got an unexpected bonus … an extra SIM.

I went throught the order process twice and paid twice (via CashRewards), but Telstra sent me 3 acknowledgements. I thought it was just an email glitch but I received 3 separate SIM packages. CashRewards only shows two. I also got the $8 notification, but it shows as $10 on my account.

For the record I have 4 active prepaid SIMs with Telstra. I wasn't home when the deliveries came, so a card was left for PO pickup with "FOR COLLECTION BY …(my name) … ONLY".

  • Anyone have issues with the referral bonus showing up? I used the randomiser link for pricepal but no dice. My sim purchase was recorded though.

    • Did u download Web app of pricepal?

    • I did ask admin about Pricepal referral codes a while back as mine doesn't fit with the setup at the moment, but I didn't hear back.

  • +1

I ordered on Tuesday night and still no cashrewards email??

    • I ordered one on Monday, I got it on Tuesday.

I ordered another one on Tuesday, no sign of the cash back yet.

  • Please excuse my ignorance. Have been reading OzB wiki on Telstra starter packs and think one can use these for data only (3GB) by selecting data on activation, then use as pretty cheap data and simply activate another when required (I already have an optus phone plan but occasionally need a pile of extra data). Could someone please confirm I've interpreted correctly. Can't see any info on data only on the Telstra starter pack webpage. Thanks

    • Correct me if I am wrong. I think the new Data plan has only 2GB data. But it will give you $30 credit to be used on google play store. This $30 cannot creditme2u, but have to be used up within the plan period.

      • Thank you fatice. I guess my main question is can this starter kit be used for data? If so I would buy a few for times when I need extra data without having to pay $10/GB with my optus plan. (This starter kit, even if 2GB, would work out at $2.50/GB IF it's possible to use for data)

        • The short answer is YES.

The long one: These new $30 starter kits allow user to sign up for mobile or data plans. You can have 1 month, 3 months or 6 months mobile plans. All data plans are 1 month only.

        • @fatice: Many thanks fatice. Will buy then :-)
