Looks like the cheapest price when compared with other stores. Usually around the $3,500 mark.
Great reviews on picture quality.

Or price beat @ GGs and do the rest
I'm really interested to meet the people who buy such expensive TV…
The people that buy such expensive TVs are people that have a good job that pays well. That's what our Treasurer says.
wish curved tv will come under $1500 by this boxing day :)
Still overpriced by $1235
I'm gonna tell Dick he's dreaming
Why is OLED still so expensive? That's a real shame :/ It really will fail at this rate, sigh.
Before buying an OLED display, be aware of its disadvantages:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OLED#DisadvantagesThe main ones are:
the blue LEDs have a much shorter life than the other LEDs, changing the colours over time.
OLED displays can suffer from "burn-in"
The first of these, the short life of the display, is why these displays are currently only common in smartphones. Most smartphones are replaced within two to three years, so the colour effect often doesn't show before the smartphone is thrown out.
Also, I've not seen any reviewers who think the curved display is a good idea. Apparently the manufacturers made the display curved to differentiate OLED displays from LCDs, not because there was any demand for it. Some reviewers complained that the curved display distorts the image.
That information is a little out of date. It's true that OLED lifespan is still less than LCD, but current panels have blue lifespans of around 40,000 hours (8 hours/day for 14+ years).
I'm no great fan of the curved displays, but in my own viewings the curvature is slight enough that you don't notice it at reasonable viewing angles.
I'll do a bit more reading, but the source you quote doesn't say whether the 40,000 hours is "power on hours", as you have assumed, or just time. Organic components suffer both degradation with time (often due to atmospheric oxygen) and degradation with usage.
If it is degradation with time, then 40,000 hours is 4.5 years.
I'm looking for articles in peer-reviewed science and physics journals, if anyone has seen one, please let me know.
I thought I saw this for 2500ish mark on Grays not sure if it was new or a demo though.
Amazing TV if you don't care about UHD this is the tv to get.Im holding off until the flat OLEDs arrive, and the 55" falls bellow $2000.00. Needless to say, I'll be waiting a while for my new OLED TV.
