  • Dick smith have quite a few netgear modems/routers/adapters on sale today
http://bargaintracker.net/ (You can search 'netgear' to get a more refined list)
I've gone through a few and some are cheaper elsewhere, some cheaper with DSE.

  • Dammit! I picked one up from Harvey Norman for $360 last month!

      You're obviously not a professional.

      • They did give me a $40 instore gift card at the time of purchase so it was a pretty good price at the time. It also works, unlike my old Modem.

  • VENT I got a Bigpond Cable Gateway Max (C6300BD) the other day. Fantastic hardware ruined by Telstra's garbage firmware. The DHCP server won't even honour static IP address reservations so a lot of people are turning everything off (including AC1900 WIFI) and using them as bridges, then buying something liket he Nighthawk for WIFI, which is a huge waste. I ended up using my old WRT54GL as the DHCP server so I can use all the other features. Seems to be working for now (until another forced automatic firmware update breaks something else).

  • SNR tweaking?

  • I have this router, good, with DDWRT you can set it to run all traffic in your home through a VPN and you can even exclude any single computer say a gaming PC or PS4

Also torrent server, ftp, media server

  • Deleted - wrong product

  • I've got a netcommm n600 adsl modem router at home given to me by TPG. It sits in the bedroom and therefore Wi-Fi is weak in the lounge room.

If I connect this modem to an EoP adapter in the bedroom and the other end in the lounge room which would then be connected via Ethernet to this router, will it potentially improve my Wi-Fi coverage in the lounge room? Will this type of set up even work? I know the EoP adapter already work when connecting lounge room devices via Ethernet, so am hoping my Wi-Fi coverage may also improve by doing this???

  • Oh well it says out of stock. Was gonna do price match at OW.

  • i got the vic gdns, richmond store to price match and picked one up there earlier today. Think they had a few left .
