After signing up for the Platinum card myself I have been looking for a way to bump up my Velocity points for a Europe trip.
Card details:
- 12,500 bonus Velocity Points1 when you apply by 30 September 2015, are approved and spend $300 on your new Card within the first 3 months.
- 2 Velocity Points per $1 spent with Virgin Australia and 1 Point per $1 spent everywhere else
- Purchase Protection & Refund Protection
- Online fraud protection guarantee
- 0.99% p.a. on balance transfers for the first 6 months5 - A one-off credit plan establishment fee of 1% applies to any balances transferred.
When used with a referral link the Amex Velocity Escape card is pretty good!
Referral Bonus:
$0 annual fee
15,000 velocity points + 20,000 points for the referee
If you were to refer your partner they would get 15k points and you would get 20k points, transfer them all to your account along with the platinum card bonus and that's a quick 145K points!
To save time before you apply for your American Express Velocity Platinum Card, it's best to make sure you can say yes to the following:
I am aged over 18
I am an Australian citizen or permanent resident or hold a current Business Long Stay Visa (subclass 457)
I have a personal gross (pre-tax) annual income of $40,000 or more
I have no history of bad debt or payment default
And if self employed, I have been trading for at least 18 months or 12 months if I hold an existing American Express issued Card
Note - $300 spend required in the first 3 months to get the bonus points
I have also found the card with 12,500 points - no referral needed

Existing AMEX cardholders can generate a referral code here:

Here is a link to my referral page as an example only.., but feel free to use it :)

No deal. Just referral Spam
I would just wait for the next 40k/50K QFF deal .
Not worth risking your credit rating for 15K points when there are better deals around.
