It was a fad. It is over.
I've had quite a few of these things [1], under various brand names.
No-name units cost about $30. They work for a while, then the shaft bearings go in the blender lids. They still work, they just make a lot of noise about it, until the vibration and deflection takes out the shaft seals and they start leaking out the shaft. Then you throw it away and get another one.
The "Magic Bullet" as-seen-on-TV cost about twice as much. They last slightly longer before the same thing happens. Double the price for slightly longer service life doesn't add up economically.
This "Nutri bullet" looks to be the same thing again, but for double the price again. I can't imagine it lasting 4x as long as the no-name dodgies.
The only other thing that goes wrong with them (Magic or no-name) is that the tabs eventually break off the side of the blending cups, so they don't push down the switches on the motor unit. You can get away with turning it around so the remaining tab pushes the switch, for a while, but once they're all broken you chuck that cup away. But by then you've probably gone through a few blend lid bearings and seals, so you have no shortage of cups (and motor units).
No deal for me.

[1] I have a disabled family member who needs food to be pureed. Every meal goes through a blender. That's a lot of blending over 5+ years. These bullet things are good because they're easy to clean and don't waste much food.
I can't imagine it lasting 4x as long
I got mine just before Xmas, use it daily and it's still going strong…
Myer has the 900 watt 12 piece version on sale for $169 at the moment. Not sure if the extra 300 watts is worth $20 though, just putting it out there!
there have been some issues with the 900 watt one in the past. not sure if they've fixed them.
GoodHouskeeping in Westfield Fountain Gate VIC have these for $129 currently.
What's special about this other than the name?
Sounds like a 1 trick blender.
