$5.99 they unlocked a desire 300 i bought cheap off ebay a few weeks ago.
I have had close to 100 of these with broken screens, i thought people at my work must be smashing them intentionally but i did a few test drops with a few of the water damaged phones even on carpet a corner drop can result in a shattered screen. So if you buy one get a silicon case because they are like dinner plates when dropped.
Time to dig out the old Nokia's as punishment.
anyone know of a bargain on screen replacements?
Bugger.
I am looking for a replacement for a Samsung GT-sg310 that I use for its gps, but hate for everything else.
It came out of its cradle on my motorbike when I hit some train tracks and bounced down the road in pieces (back, battery, phone) at 60kph and apart from scratched bezel and back is perfectly ok.
Not a mark on the glass.I lost Ó phone going over the Glades Villeneuve bridge the same way, I stopped, couldn't find it, came back later at night when there was less traffic (but only after doing 3 or 4 passes) and still couldn't find it. Was a 6210 navigator. Miss that thing
Not bad specs but doesn't have 4G (according to the website http://www.htc.com/au/smartphones/htc-desire-300/) I was hoping to get one to use mainly as a "4G mobile broadband modem" to use up some of the cheap sims of late.
my local woolworths (moonee ponds - melb) was selling a telstra 4G modem for $24.50 yesterday - nationwide dunno.
me too.
what phones (cheap) are good for this?
There was that Y550Lumia 532 if you don't mind windows phone.
Another phone is telstra 4gx buzz (aka zte Blade Q lux) Seems to be slightly better than the Y550, but I think it's $89. Some Pros it has over the y550; on lollipop, 8gb of storage, bluetick, band 28 and capacitive buttons light up.
Discussion here on wp
http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2423274Thanks for the heads up on the 4gx buzz
Seems like the best phone to use as mobile Wi-Fi device. That Telstra Buzz has 1 GB ram. I know which one I'll buy.
The key spec that is terrible is the 512MB of internal memory. The phone will turn to clag on the first update.
http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_desire_300-5666.phpPersonally I wouldn't touch any droid phone with less than 1G internal memory.
If you buy it as a phone for your kids they will hate Androids forever! :)
Just called aus post and absolutely nothing at any stores at and around my post code.
But they acknowledged that this was the price?
Incase this helps, Aldi's sims should work in this accepted as Telstra. I have another Telstra phone which rejected Lyca (Telstra reseller) but happy takes Aldi.
Can't say for sure but 90% sure I'm right.
I had a huge issue getting my Aldi sim to work in this phone (bought it a year ago at JB) to the point where I ended up switching to Telstra just to get it to work. Phone has been a bit of a disappointment- quite slow, and apps crash all the time. Am looking to switch phones since I can't handle it any more. But at this price it's not that bad if you're not going to use it much.
Thanks, between your answer and kronicmacstigator's below I'm sold on NOT buying this phone.
For my purposes, essentially a backup/secondary phone it sounds like it'd do the job fine but I'd prefer the Y550 which can be had for not much more during a sale.
On my phone currently but how does this compare with say the y550?
Y550 walks all over the 300
Thanks, that made my decision. Hopefully a Y550 deal comes back on again soon.
This is old phone by the looks of it. Might be good compared to what available at present for $59. I couldn't imagine using an android phone with only 512mb of ram.
did anyone get that yet? whats the product code?
I sighted a catalogue at the post office when in there asking and it was there in full colour for $59
I also got them to check if there were any available in other stores in SEQ.
1 in Burleigh and 1 in Nerang was all that showed.
They called about the one in Nerang for me as I will be there on Monday but it was a return/damaged goodsYeah, there seems to be no stock anywhere. They've all been snapped up. Dickies just about laughed at me when I asked them to price match.
HTC Desire 300 - Been using this phone for 18 months now. The screen is shattered but fully operational. Its been used as second phone and surprised it lasted so long.
Went to Australia Post Diamond Creek today and they said they had a couple in stock-for anyone interested in getting one
Nice one, these sell for over $100 on ebay
