Dick Smith - Brother HL-L2340DW Mono Laser Printer + Fuji Xerox A4 Paper Ream $75.28 C&C

140
GIVEME25

my first post, I think it's worth a separate post.

C&C $96.61 + this pack of A4 Paper

bring it to $100.28 - $25 = $75.08 $75.28 cheapest I can find here. if you can use WW giftcard with 5 or 7.5% discount, it's even better.
I used a physical card, but all my eGiftcard from 7.5% BigW werent accepted.

cristtos is spot on: "Coupon works only if your cart shows over $100, Make sure you add the paper!"

Click & Collect are still available in a few Vic stores, ie Knox & Frankston. to Melb CBD Delivery charge $14.95, it'll be $90, still cheapest delivered to Melb metro.

Cheapest pick up on Static Ice http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=Brother%20H… is $99, other sites charge a very high postage and no pick up. TGG has it for $129.

I've been eying this model for a while, it's got good reviews (recommended 1st place in 2014/2015 by a well known IT website - cant remember where http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-cheap-printer/), wireless, fast & auto double side. More importantly, you can buy compatible toners on eBay for under $20 for 2000 pages with tons of listings.
the Ricoh http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ricoh-SP213NW-Mono-Laser-printer-… is much cheaper to buy $29 after cash back in Melb. but cheapest toner is $55, so if you need print more, L2340DW is much more eco.

      Worked for me…
      Just ordered one.

kids have more and more printing needs.

mine are the opposite. the school has converted them to greenies…

        • We've had this model for 6 months and have had no issues with it. It prints fast and cleanly, you won't be disappointed. It does cause the paper to curl if I have to pick a fault with it.

  • Thanks mate. I have been meaning to buy this printer for a while.

I have been using my trusty HL-2132 with generic toners for four years, cost me $35 from Officeworks but it doesn't have duplex and wireless.

Sick of doing manually doing double sided printing (first world problems) so had to jump on this. Best price was $100 from DS awhile back but this is too good to pass up.

  • any recommendations for colour laser with an option for cheap after market carts?

    • yep, use the one at work…

but then you lose new start…

Trust me colour laser and cheap don't go together very well, brother generally has colour laser for around $200 mark with relatively cheap toner catridge but they use drum and belt which will cost and arm and leg to replace. Fuji xerox is also ok but beware some of their model use verification chip in catridge.

    • I got one of these for the cheap cartridges.
      http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/fuji-xerox-…

      • Thanks for that- looks decent, but can't seem to find stock anywhere online? Is there a model that replaces it? Can't find a straight answer anywhere online.

        • Msy have it. From what i could tell the newer model takes more expensive cartridges.

  • How does it compare to this one?
Brother HL-1110 Monochrome Laser Printer $28 (Click and Collect) @ The Good Guys eBay

Replacement toners for the above are about the same price ($15-$20).

  • just last week bought brother 1150 mono laser printer.. form dick smith for same price, can i exchange tht with this.

  • Still looks available. added to cart paper too but code not working. Any ideas?

    • The codes expired at midnight, looks like you were around 10 mins too late. The printer is still on special for one more day by the looks of it so if there's yet more DSE codes today you might still be able to nab one a bit cheaper.

I have a HL-2270DW which looks virtually identical. I don't know what the differences are but I'm very happy with mine.

    • I have the same one and it's been great, using it wired though, never explored the wireless side of it. Duplex printing is handy at times, no pissing about feeding it back in, getting it upside down or wrong side up etc as I used to so often do.

      • I only use mine wireless. No problems at all with sharing etc. It wakes up when I send a print job and goes to sleep 10 mins later as I set it up to do. I do recall having minor teething problems but it wasn't hard to resolve. Otherwise I've never had a problem with it of any kind that I can recall.

edit: I just remembered, the quality is a bit ordinary when it comes to printing images.

  • I wouldn't call this a huge bargain. For about this price delivered ($79 delivered) last year i bought a Brother DCP-1510 mono multi-function laser from Dick Smith.

    • No wireless and auto duplex.
