Not as good as previous deals on this drive but its the cheapest I could find currently and the free shipping code makes it even better.
Grabbed one up to upgrade my PS4.

That's not an SSHD.
different products??
perhaps this one?

Just be mindful of using this for the PS4. The drive should work fine, but 1TB may not exactly be future proof. I've upgraded my PS4 to a 2TB drive and because I now don't have to uninstall games anymore, it also means its filling up fast.
Considered this but would rather the faster load times of the SSHD to a mechanical HDD. Think its a pretty good price/performance ratio for this drive based on performance comparisons.
True. I've seen tests and load times are about 20 second faster once cached, which is awesome. I just preferred more space for now.
lowest cost per GB wins out if you're going to put in a ps4. The seconds difference (at most possibly 10 on first load) is not worth the extra cost. Once loaded, and level change or reloading from save points is less than 2seconds difference to SSD.
Go for 2TB drive and you'll be better off longer term. Games only getting bigger if you prefer HDD download over disk.
Think it comes down to each user's habits. Some people might only have a handful of games and would never use 2TB. Some might not even hit the stock 500GB, so doubling to 1TB could be over kill for them.
Not sure if you mean SSHD or SSD?
For everyone elses sake theres a good side-by-side comparison here on YouTube featuring this drive.
Personally, I only ever play 1 game each boot and dont switch between which means theres a good chance the game will be cached onto the flash component of the drive and provide me with near SSD speeds. I've also not used much of my 500GB in the year ive owned the PS4 and feel 1TB is more than enough to keep me going before the next gen of consoles are released.
Extremely valid, no point going overboard. But if you are a downloader only, at averages of 40GB per title now, that's about 50 games at 2TB. Loads of indie ones far less, but most a-list titles are 30-40GB.
SSD is going to get you a 5-10 second boost on first load of most games, then after that it's not really worth it. Save it for PC/Laptop. SSHD for the "Cache" it would seem better but it's not that much better either again, seconds.
All i'm saying is that lowest cost per GB regardless of the drive is your best bang for buck on PS4.
I'm in the same boat, I stick to one game at a time but I do get the PSN+ games every month and most popular games, I have since launch and all download only because I don't like disk media (kids etc.) And i'm past the 500GB already, almost at 1TB.
@xdivino: cant agree anymore. I really dont mind that few seconds on loading compare to the extra money cost that if i decide to upgrade. I use SSD everywhere in my PC and laptop and mac. but i just dont see that much of the point on ps4 especially to me, a big reason getting a console is the performance/price. Adding a SSD will clearly break this balance considering the performance/price. And ofc it is personal opinion but again I think it speaks for most ppl out there.
Hybird is the way to go as far as i can see now.
but for a picky person like me who doesnt even own over 10 games, may be next life. :)

Oops sorry - 3.5" :/ slaps head - must learn to read
Still a good competition to point out :)
Great! Thanks. Have been thinking of upgrading my PS4s HDD :) now I have an excuse too
First thing I put in my PS4 when I got it. :)
Plenty of space at the moment, although I'm sure in the next few years it'll run out. But hopefully by then they'll have a 2TB SSHD available.
I buy my games mainly on disc anyway.
That's a typo I believe. Under specs appears as 3.5"
Yeah, based on that pic that's definitely not a 2.5. :P
doesnt matter disk or download, ps4 will always have a copy of game on the disk(full game)
My only gripe is this drive appears to be 9.5mm thick ruling out many uses (many laptops etc) I knowthere is a laptop thin" version but I guess it costs a lot more.
highly recommend!
only gripe is i got 1TB not bigger - next time
allowed me to go back to hoarding every single download :) he he
A good price posted, Paid $115 from Scorptech last month, yet to use it in my laptop.
Has anyone actually used one of these? It seems to only have 8 gig of NAND memory in it, doesn't seem like it will be all that good.
I have a SSHD in my Dell SFF PC. Works well, and boot up time is very quick.
How do you find how many GB of flash memory it has?
I couldn't find it.
I'm looking to buy one to replace the 160gb HDD in my laptop.. I hardly use it, so can't justify a full SSD.
I looked up a few tech review sites till I found one that included it. Might have been anandtech, can't remember exactly which though.
am looking for a larger option for ps4 but faster load times definitely my priority…
temping but uh god, so wary of seafail drives…
anybody have any benchmark/reviews of best replacement drive for ps4?

In terms of cost/performance I think this SSHD ranks pretty highly. Hoping to install mine early next week (hopefully) when it arrives so I can report back if you want?
Got mine today. kind of surprised that it did not come in a retail box. Just in the static-free bag.
Really? That doesn't sound too good. Mine is still showing as in transit. Auspost from east to WA is a joke.
Mine still says In transit too, But was delivered today, I'm in NNSW thou.
Yeah It just came in a bubble wrap post sachet. Hope it works alright. Won't know until I get around to upgrading my PS4
Received mine yesterday. Same thing just the static free bag inside a rolled up yellow envelope.
Installed it last night. Took about 10min to backup to USB, install the new drive and install the PS4 software onto it. Now I need to reinstall all the games and updates which I'm guessing will probably take a couple of hours.
Tested it quickly on GTA V and it loaded significantly faster than the old drive and seemed to play a lot better too.
For a second was surprised thinking wow a 1TB SSD for such a low price and kicking myself for picking up a 500GB Samsung SSD for $240 the other day. Then looked up what SSHD actually means. Phew
