    • It's an automated response to a form being lodged! It's just acknowledging that you've submitted a form. Read it. Good luck with your 'demand'. Telstra don't have to honor antything prior to eligibility checks being done.

  • Hi All, I ordered this online earlier today and I have had the confirmation and shipping confirmation.
    I was paying $50/month for $500 of calls and 1.5gig of data.

    Now I will be paying $45/month, unlimited calls and 2gig of data and with a cracker of a phone.

    I was looking to get the note4 and was looking at around $80/month and still had a cap with it.

    Could someone please let me know if you go on contract this plan will only be for 24mths or will it continue indefinitely until I change the plan?

    As far as I am concerned I'm keeping this baby forever!

  • checked the online startrack portal and it says my parcel was "Received at StarTrack Location for processing" at 4:57pm Preston CLOC, so im assuming this means my transaction was approved (porting my number from vodafone, out of contract)

    find out on monday i guess :D

    any i think that anyone that got a "cancellation" email was more that they filled out their details incorrectly, or telstra have issues verifying them\their current mobile provider etc

  • If you really want this deal, go get yourself a $2 prepaid telstra sim, activate it and wait for it to comeback (I was told this morning it will back), but you need to be a prepaid customer. That is my plan and imo worth the $2 outlay, even if it doesn't go to plan.

      • I have no idea if this is possible, but it is my plan to try to doexactly that if the deal ever comes back, the Telstra rep assured me that it would be back sometime in the next few days.

    Hey, I ordered the s5 around 430pm yesterday. Got the order email but no others. called the number this morning, they told me they sent around an email at 8pm yesterday asking for more details like some of you guys. They also said it was a targeted offer, but said I could still get it if I went to a Telstra shop and gave them 3 forms of ID, payslips and rental lease/home bills. But they won't really look at it until Monday anyway. So I will go do that Monday morning. I'm highly doubtful it will work. I was porting from Telechoice (24 month contract with a $197 fee for coming off contract) but the plan is so worth it.

    • I ordered an S5 just before 6:00pm yesterday and, like you, received an order confirmation email and nothing else so I called them just now on 1300 131 113 and the guy told me that my order has been processed and that I should expect an email on Monday with a tracking number. Looking good so far…

  • I ordered a galaxy s5 around 4pm yesterday. Received an order confirmation email then an email about activation of email bill with an account number. Called them on the 1300 number this morning, got told that the order was pending and was asked to call 1800 096 566 for more info. Hopefully the order will go through.

      • I use Google chrome auto fill and it has never let me down by entering false info. It seems that the deal no longer exists in any shape or form. I'll give them a ring tomorrow to find out what the issue was.

        I was attempting to port my Boost number across.

  • General question about Telstra - if you have a pre-paid service and you go for this offer (if it comes back) at a later stage can you transfer your post paid number across if you what to use that number going forward?

    • If u click mobiles on plan page, it shows m8 and s5 are all in stock for next day delivery, so Telstra just don't want to let us sign this offer.

        • pretty much. their market share has grown hugely over the past few years, with a more customer focused approach. look at what this "small" has done, its already caused much discussion, and most likely stolen quite a few customers from their competitors (myself included)

          its like when coles drastically reduce one item in their store, yes they will make a loss on it, but the fact that you are in their store, and will potentially look at/buy other items, is worth it.

    I got the email on Thursday and was going to put an order through on the weekend after asking the missus what she wanted.
    Tried to do it online, out of stock….called up and they said wait for stock and then finally went in store and they couldn't do it!

    • Partner got the email, he got me to go online to do the deal, but was no longer available. He went on to live chat, who said they could not help, went to the local Telstra store who said the promotion is not available in store.

    Offers were sent via email or SMS. How did you find out about the order?
    Orders are being cancelled for those customers who did not get an invitation.

  • I didn't get sent an email, but for those that did i was provided with following information from live chat.
    the person i was chatting with, went and double checked with an online consultant and came back with following response

  • I have always been mystified by Telstra's 'unwillingness' to be competitive.

    TPG, Exetel etc provides a "unlimited" home phone and internet bundle from Telstra that Telstra charges about two to three times the price for, or which they don't even provide.

    Boost provides a mobile phone service from Telstra that Telstra charges two to three times the price for.

    I realize TPG and Boost are basically retailing from wholesaler Telstra, but why can't Telstra retail and provide a similar product at a similar price?

    Now it seems Telstra doesn't want to get new customers on 24 month contracts, (if they were not targeted), at price it is willing to give it's prepaid customers. It is happy to turn down new business at a price they are happy with! Very stange.

      • no problem. Should be interesting what happens Monday morning with the deal. My son was paying about $110 per month for Telstra mobile and then he moved to Boost at $40 for the identically same deal. TPG's $69 deal cannot even be bought from Telstra as it doesn't include mobile calls, AFAIK. And now it looks like most people will get knocked back on this deal on Monday.

  • Spoke to Telstra, they are aware that it was posted in forums. It was an existing prepaid customer targeted offer to move them away from the encore plan/bonus credit plans. The Telstra online team is in the process of cancelling inelligable orders to make stock available for the intended recipients. Looks like I'll get my phone then

      • I doubt that would be the case. You have proof of it being $45 plan, a simple phone call would resolve it if it did end up being the case.

        I'd wait on it. You're in the power position (once you receive the phone), as you can provide proof of what you signed up for (shows on the email confirmation).

    • I was/am on Boost and selected "i am a current telstra customer" in the signup process.

    • I was an existing Telstra customer. Off contract paying $50 month by month. When I signed up, I just used my regular Telstra customer details and everything went through okay.
      I've just taken out my sim from my old phone and popped it into the new.

    I was one of the last to get my order through (approx. 6:00pm Melb. time) before stock had run out.
    I didn't get the invitation email but I'm switching from Encore which most likely was the reason my order was approved.

    I just received my tracking number. I was porting from Boost. I did not receive an email offer and it seems to have worked fine.

    Just spoke to online chat. My documentation sent with the phone had $50, but they confirmed it was $45/month and 2gig data, unlimited calls and sms. Apparently have share data sim too at no additional charge.
