ozbargainozbargainpro

Hi again everyone. After the huge success of last night's deal, I called Francesca at PC Byte to thank her for the offer and time she put in to respond to comments. I then started bugging her again into giving us all another bargain, one that I initially wanted to post but she just couldn't move much on pricing. After reminding her of the power of this site, she caved in and has offered another great deal tonight. This deal actually took longer than last night's to put together, especially as there are 2 coupons.

On to the offer. SanDisk Extreme & Extreme PRO are at crazy prices tonight. Just throw the product code into staticice to see just what a great deal this is. For fairness, stock is limited to 1 of each type per customer (4 in total). Adding more than 1 of each type will render coupon invalid. Francesca should be around to field any questions. Have a great night everyone :)

Please follow instructions carefully. No need to register to buy:

  • Click the main link
  • Add quantity of 1 to cart (selecting more will render coupon invalid)
  • Click Checkout
  • Enter Discount Code of ozbargain or ozbargainpro and apply
  • Enter your postcode to get postage quote
  • Select Free Shipping (first option in list)
  • Update total then Proceed to Checkout
  • Enter your shipping details
  • Select payment
  • Place order

The mobile site isn't quite developed yet, so if you're ordering from a mobile/tablet, add the product to cart then scroll to the bottom of the page to "my order". You should be able to checkout from there.

Top stuff mate! Thanks for your efforts :)

  • Pretty happy with my samsung pro, its "only" got 90MB/s speed but got it for a lot cheaper than this.

    • Mind telling us where you got your Samsung Pro? Thanks.

      • +1

Got it from amazon when they had it on special, 64GB was around $50 delivered. Very happy with it, perfect in my go pro filming 1080p 60fps.

        • +2

I see, thanks. Prefer to deal with local resellers in case it is faulty and has to return it.

Funny I saw the Extreme 64Gb was priced around $58, yet today it has gone up to $69. What's going on? Aussie dollars suddenly dropped sharply today?

Edit: Their eBay store is selling for $63.95 - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SanDisk-Extreme-64GB-micro-SD-SDX…. So this deal is $10 discount.

        • @edfoo: Fair enough, its more comparable to the extreme pro on sale here. It comes with a pretty long warantee (10 years or life i cant remember exactly), but here is the samsung pro currently on special for USD $42.

        • +3

@edfoo: Haven't done it myself but I've read plenty of times that Amazon will replace and pay shipping on basically any item for 1 year.

        • @edfoo: I noticed this too! It's still cheaper than yesterday's price by a few $$ with free shipping. Not sure if shipping is normally free? Prices have gone up from yesterday's price though excluding discount.

        • @Diji1: As long as it's under warranty, they should cover it (especially if you're a customer that has spent a lot with them).

        • @Diji1:

Yes they will. I sent back a faulty WD hard drive and they reimbursed me what I paid as well as the shipping cost. I ended up in front due to the weakening Aussie dollar!

          Edit- auto spelling

I went ahead and ordered one Extreme 64Gb. Good deal though not as good as that 8Gb card deal yesterday, want to support local business rather than buying from Amazon. Also paid extra $2.95 for registered post for reassurance. Thanks again TightArse and Francesca.

        • +1

@edfoo: If you paid using PayPal, you shouldn't have to get the registered post option - just claim PayPal if it doesn't come.

        • @happychappy1: Cheers.

The 32GB Extreme Pro Micro is $38.04 USD, which works out to be just under $50 AUD shipped from Amazon.

The 64GB Extreme Pro Micro is $60.52 USD, which works out to be just under $80 AUD shipped from Amazon.

Sure, the prices are similar. But this is coming local, so you'll get it a bit faster.

      • +2

Debateable, Amazon's current record USA -> Adelaide for me is 3 days (standard shipping :) … granted this isn't normal though.

    • +2

Yeah cheaper @ Amazon it seems

    • Hi happychappy1. Thanks for this feedback. Got hold of PC Byte and they dropped a few dollars off the PROs. See this comment.

    • Hmm, Amazon must have seen this sale as the 64GB is now $54.99 USD and 32GB is $32.99 USD

    • Thanks happychappy1, ordered from Amazon just now. Not in rush hence happy to wait a couple weeks for shipping

      • my last Amazon.com order just arrived in less then 4 days!

    • EDIT: I noticed others have already noted the price changes. Retracting my comment. Cheers!

  • Can I use this in my dslr with adapter??

    • Yes you can (provided it takes SD cards).

  • +1

Bought too many hard drives and memory cards lately, nice deal but I guess I am holding off for now :\

  • Having problem checking out. Won't recognise my email address, which I've typed in correct. On mobile site.

    • Hey Wally23,

Are you able to give it one more go, starting the process once more.
If the same issue occur, please drop me a PM.

      Thank you
      Francesca

PC Byte is about to change the prices on the PROs to $52 & $85. Still the best local deal by miles :)

    • +1

Top deal, good to see a local Aussie business being competitive on the world stage :)

  • Thanks TA. Didn't even really check the competition closely purchasing a 64gb Extreme… such is your reputation around here!

  • Great deal, but I am getting Coupon code "ozbargainpro" is not valid for the SANDISK 32GB EXTREME PRO MICROSDHC CLASS 10 UHS-1 95MB/S.

    • Stand by. I'll call them. Seems to have stopped working since the price drop.

    • Hey Guys,

      Sorry some setting issue.
Give me 5 minutes to check on the coupon.

      Thank you
      Francesca

      • Great - thanks order placed.
Will go well with the new gopro.

  • Coupon code "ozbargainpro" is not valid….

    Just my luck…

    • +1

      Now working :)

  • Do these come in their original Samsung retail packages or OEM again? Thanks.

    • +1

      Sandisk package I assume.

      • Hi,

        SanDisk retail package.

        Cheers
        Francesca

        • Thanks edfoo and Francesca. That was meant to be Sandisk retail package, not Samsung, apologies.

  • Hey these Cat 3 and not Cat 10??????

    • +1

These are not network cables. They are class 10 UHS-3 micro SD cards.

      • Yeah that too ;) Class….been a while

  • Do these or the 8Gb ones come with adapters ?

    • Hi,

These ones do come with adapter in the package.

      Cheers
      Francesca

      Hello Everyone,

Sorry for the panic attack. My colleague managed to fix up the coupon.
      Ozbargainpro is now working.

      Enjoy :)

      Cheers
      Francesca

  • These would be good for a GoPro Hero4 Silver?

    • thats what i got it for but the SanDisk 64GB Extreme PRO MicroSD 95MB/s cos it fast enough for 4K

    • Hi rorymeister,

Coincidentally also looking at one for a GoPro and GoPro have answered with yes. See this link: https://gopro.com/support/articles/software-update-release

      • +1

Yeah, I checked that, but they said Sandisk Extreme Plus, so thought I'd ask ;)

        • +1

Ahh, well the Plus is one lower than the PRO and one above the standard extreme according to Sandisk so either will work.

          http://www.sandisk.com.au/products/memory-cards/microsd/

Edit: And GoPro have also said extreme will work:

          https://gopro.com/support/articles/software-update-release
          SanDisk Extreme UHS-I 32GB (SDSDQXL-032G-A46A - 32GB)

        • @NimitzHarrington:

Cheers man (and TA) - bought!

        • +1

          @rorymeister:

No worries mate. I will find out just like you if it works or not on a GoPro :)

        • @NimitzHarrington: Thanks for the info, but does anybody know if the Extreme Pro works with the GoPro Hero 3+? Doesn't seem to be under the recommended list, does anybody have any experience with using these cards?

        • +1

@eviledward: Although untested by GoPro, the fact that the Extreme Pro is faster (specs wise) than the Extreme Plus means there's a high probability that it will work. A quick google search reveals a few links about GoPro and Sandisk Extreme Pro, one of which is WP: http://whrl.pl/RdPTJv

      • These are excellent prices.. You should get one for your Gopro. I have a Black & Silver Hero4 they work well. But if you ask me other Cards such as sandisk extreme plus & also my next fav the Samsung Pro 64Gb works well.

    • +1

I am using Extreme 64GB (not the pro version) with my GoPro H4 Silver and not have a single problem on frame drop at all. Just FYI.

  • Can someone explain to me the benefits of a 60mb/s or 90mb/s?

Bit of a newbie to SD cards but I really just need one for my phone to store videos, music etc.

Is it worth getting one of these?

I did get a Samsung 64GB EVO Class 10 (48mb/s) for my tablet and I'm not sure if getting these new ones will make much difference..

    • It's literally just read speeds, and the write speeds aren't far behind. Just depends on how much you use it and whether it's worth the extra money to save time reading/writing files.
I have an Extreme Pro in my MS Surface Pro (which I bought at a MUCH higher price than this) because I wanted a reliable card that performed quick speeds when using it for various programs. But for most people it isn't a necessity. Just depends on if you're happy to wait when transferring files.
For storage of media files, there's not much need for a super fast card, but it's damn nice if you're always moving content to/from it.

      • +1

Thanks for the info obo, much appreciated!

    • You're Chael Sonnen, you've made a ton of money from UFC, I'm sure you got enough money to splash on these :P

      • +2

Learning more everyday is what makes me stay undefeated and undisputed :)

        • Chael Sonnen - you're my hero!

    • just to give you some sort of answer, it's best if you need to be writing high quality video to it live (such as with GoPro etc). I'd say for a phone it's a bit of overkill, you can look for a lower speed/cheaper for general sort of use. Your other card is probably even miles ahead of what you needed for the tablet

      • Thanks for the info kutch!

    • Sounds like for what you are planning to do with your phone, you can just stick to the slower and cheaper (but still good) Samsung EVO cards. I have used EVO cards on phones, car dash cams and action cam, and they are fine cards.

  • Anyone know how these are with a G1W-C dashcam? Have read of compatibility issues but can't find anything specific

    • Shouldn't need anything nearly as fast as these. I've got the same dash cam and used Kingston class 10 micro SD's as these seem to give the least amount of trouble going from forum and eBay feedback.
Bought 3 of these from MSY for 3 of the same G1W-C and have been using it for over 6 months without any issues. 16GB get's me about 2 and a half hours, but the 32GB versions should be the same for around double the recording time.

    • Just get the cheaper Samsung EVO card. My parents' car has a G1W-C with one, it has plenty of speed for it.

  • You're the greatest, TA. Cheers.

  • Thanks TA

Another dishonest retailer with their save $xx price.

Here is the real saving before they jacked up their prices for this sale.

    SanDisk 32GB Extreme MicroSD 60MB/s $28 was $29.95(save $15 $1.95 with coupon ozbargain)
    SanDisk 64GB Extreme MicroSD 60MB/s $54 was $56.95(save $15 $2.95 with coupon ozbargain)
    SanDisk 32GB Extreme PRO MicroSD 95MB/s $52 was $62.95(save $40 $10.95 with coupon ozbargainpro)
SanDisk 64GB Extreme PRO MicroSD 95MB/s $85 was (save $40 with coupon ozbargainpro) - No Google Cache version to check

    • +3

I definitely saw the SanDisk 64GB Extreme MicroSD 60MB/s for $56.95 yesterday night. So I'm a little disappointed about their dishonesty but still cheapest I could find for local stock. And shipping is free today so savings of $5.90 compared to yesterday.

      • +1

Ahh I didn't know they don't usually have free shipping on memory cards so you may need to add the extra $2.95 saving to each.

I'm seeing this happen more and more on OzBargain, I think they should look in to being a valid reason for a neg.

      • +1

I'm also sure i saw it at this price this morning when Francesca PM'd me back and asked if the SanDisk 64GB Extreme MicroSD 60MB/s was the one i was looking for to fit my go pro that was purchased the other night. I too also asked if she could do a group deal as it would be very popular due to the recent dick smith sale. I'm so happy that Francesca listened to all the comments in last night's deal and got everybody to PM her to register their interest for bigger microsd card sizes, but am also disappointed they raised their prices and are falsely advertising a greater saving. I haven't taken a 'Byte' yet on the price, as i'm hoping it might drop more since Amazon seem to keep dropping prices as listed above

    • I asked the same question earlier in this post. But you have to also realise there are several versions of Extreme cards available with different model numbers, they all sell at slightly different prices. But you are right, the discount isn't as big as what PcByte claims to be.

      • +2

Yep, but those are the exact URLs of this store that were indexed by Google between May 25th and June 15th, so it would be the exact same product you would imagine.

I don't have a vendetta against this store and these are good prices, there is no need to lie about the amount of savings though.

        • I do agree with you, that's why I say have a look at my post earlier when I questioned the price increase today compared to yesterday. If you want to neg this deal, I also agree with you. I + this deal because it is still among the cheapest (I bought the Extreme 64Gb) local stock, with free shipping too.

        • @edfoo:
Ahh sorry I mistook you as saying that those previous prices might have been different versions.

Good price and always good to buy locally, just wish this increasing prices for a sale shenanigans would stop on some of these deals - or in cases like this where you can see the price has risen to either neg the deal or have a mod remove the "savings" amount from the post.

        • @zappy_32: That's not a bad idea. Maybe Francesca can be a bit more honest with us and readjust the "discount" given to TA. If there really is a price rise from yesterday, should also explain to us as to why.

        • +1

          @edfoo:
I've removed the 'save' amount from the post. I guess at the end of the day, the final price is what counts.

        • @tightarse: Yes, that's why I bought one. It's not a great deal, but it's still a decent deal.

        • @edfoo:
Cheers mate. I'm off to bed :)

        • +1

@tightarse: Good night. Been busy couple of days here for you.

    • Can anyone out there provide the the original price of the SanDisk 64GB Extreme PRO MicroSD 95MB/s before it was hiked up? Don't get me wrong, I still think it's a bargain since the 32GB version is a saving of $10.95 but I was just wondering how much the saving would have been on the 64GB. Still deciding. I am on OzBargain after all.

  • +2

Lexar 64gb 95mb/s from amazon is $65 shipped, and Lexar is made in Korea while Sandisk in China, plus Lexar comes with a usb 3.0 reader, I know which I'd get… Still up voted deal for local :)

    • But the Lexar's don't come close in write speeds to the extreme pro, the 64GB is only 47MB/s vs 90MB/s on the pro. I guess it depends on what you're using it for :)

      • Dang, you know your stuff, then the Sandisk deal is real good. My bad :P

  • can not seem to find SDSDQXP-064G on the GoPro list?

    • +1

Don't worry. GoPro recommends Sandisk Extreme and Extreme Plus on their list, this Extreme Pro is the top of the range, even faster than those two.
