Those modules would be a lot more useful if they came with a plastic case/cover.
Can you even buy such a thing? You can't even easily chassis mount it. How to people normally use them? Duct tape?

The DC module is good for turning any sufficient battery, .e.g. from laptop or powertool, into a "power bank".

Better use I have for it (bought one ages ago) is to permanently wire in a dashcam (or reversing cam) that runs off a USB charger port.
It's a regulated 5V - no doubt better than what's in most of the cheaper car USB adapters.
As far as mounting goes, as it's a fixed in place application, I just use decent double sided tape and it's hidden behind trim.
Paid about that or maybe a bit less from a FleaBay seller in China or HK (can't recall)

    • Look into Hammond boxes. Heatshrink for the smaller stuff.

    • Interested in one of these to hard wire a dash cam too. Any suggestions for a cheap enclosure?

edit - Would Rescue Tape do the job?

I have their 12V version of the LED panel board, 3D printed a case and used as my boy's in car reading light, very bright and even light.
