Double Walled Glasses with Saucer 80ml - Set of 4 = $6
http://www.avancer.com.au/double-walled-glasses-with-saucer-…
Only 80 ml. Espresso size only
I can't recommend the double wall glasses these guys sell. The price is great - so good in fact I have bought 16 of them over the last 3 years (2 lots of 8 of the 250ml latte glasses)
The have pretty much all failed they let water in to the hollow layer in between. First time it happened I got a warranty replacement from Avancer and was told not to put them in the dishwasher (even though they say they are dishwasher safe). I have handwashed them ever since. The little bung plug on the bottom either leaks or falls out entirely. They get pretty gross with the stagnant water stuck in there.
Since that time the entire first batch of 8 including the replacement has failed, and 4 of the next batch have had the same fate. I had 2 of the new batch replaced under warranty again, but this time Avancer wasn't keen on doing it and tried to refund me instead. Down to my last 4 now - I won't be buying them any more - it's false economy
For a slightly different view, I've had a bit better luck with Avancer. I bought 2 x 4 packs of the 250ml normal double wall glasses (not the latte ones). One pack was kept in the box, and the other pack were all used daily for around 28 months now, and washed in the dishwasher each use.
Two of those glasses have broken in that time, one after about 18 months and the other one just last week. I'm personally OK with that given the amount of use they have, and will take more care regarding where in the dishwasher I place them. It's important they aren't in a position where they will get knocked about or move during the washing process. I've now just opened the second box of glasses and they will join the rotation of daily use.
Wow - I'm actually impressed by that. You may raise a good point - having the glasses clank around in the sink may actually be harder on them than simply sitting in the dishwasher until the next run. I wonder if the "avoid the dishwasher" advice could be contributing to my longevity issues?
I have got the same problem. Once I put them in the dishwasher they start letting in water.
Which is why now I'm waiting for a free shipping promo to get another batch.
With the price cant complain too much though..any experience with Bodum ones? do they have the same problem with dishwashers?
I haven't tried them yet, but was planning on getting a couple to see how they work. Either that or back to standard mugs
I just got the Avancer email too. Their portable induction cook-top for $55 looks pretty good. I was wondering if they'd be any good for wok dishes? Flat-bottom woks, of course.

No, Induction will only heat the flat bottom you won't get any heat travelling up the sides like you do with the heat from the flames going up on the outside of the pot.
This is great when you are reducing Stocks or making stuff like a balsamic reduction because you get no burning or caking to the sides of the pots because the sides don't get hot at all.
