Found this here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/195943#comment-2781845 (thanks to the DSE rep).

Seems like a good deal for a basic TV which is "UHD" (but 1080p@100hz (or uHDx30hz) over HDMI) and 100hz?

Cool. But HDMI output is limited to 1080p I think.

      • HDMI output ??

Generally you input into a TV don't you?

          Sorry, I meant input (d'oh)

So HDMI input is limited to 1080p. I guess the DTV is only at UHD.

@fryandlaurie: Sort of - it can do UHD over HDMI at 30hz

          @fryandlaurie:
dtv is limited to 1080i so even less than bluray…
hdmi can do 3,840x2,160 pixels at up to 30 frames per second (and 4,096x2,160 at 24 frames per second).
          so it does UHD fine.

        • @wisc: Thanks for the info. Do you have any opinions of the TV/panel itself? Thinking of getting this for my old man's birthday.

        • @fryandlaurie:
personally i wouldn't touch a TV without smart functionality.
very much depends on what your going to do with it though, as a minimum CEC. but thats cause i use those features…

    Size: 54.6" Diagonal Screen
    Panel Resolution: 3840x2160
    Backlight: Edge Lit LED

    Seen on the Seiki page

  • Anyone, seen this TV in person? Is it any good?

I Don't do any gaming, I will just use it for movies / tv shows and have a hifi stereo system that I will plug into it (as im sure the sound will not be great). What's the image like? I don't really notice the difference between great colours and bad colours on LED's, but I tend to notice when the image just looks shit (not colorwise). I used to have a samsung 51" plasma and comparing that to my AWA TV of yesteryear or a changhong I just picked up for cheap from dicksmith and I can see a really big difference in quality, but not something I could really describe.

Would this TV be okay? Or is it on par with the changhong rubbish?

    update

I think DSE has goofed up. I think the listing is for the Full HD variant of this TV and NOT the 4K version. On the website the 4K variant is listed as being 27kg while the full HD one is 28kg. The DSE website and ebay page shows up as 28kg which leads me to believe this is actually the Full HD model. Perhaps I am wrong though.
