  • Is this a good deal?? I honesty don't know anymore with all these cheap uhd tv's

    • I wouldn't post it otherwise, put it this way the 65" FHD was around $1800 normal price and that's FHD

      • Ohhh man… Thanks… I'm having an impulse moment now…

        Hmmmm

        ? What to do… :(

  • +1

    i purchased this tv on the 12th of november for only $840, i don't think this is a deal

    • +1

      Your thinking of the FHD?

      • i think you are right, cursed designations only have one letter different :D

        • Yeah no way would this be $840 and it's just been added to the site :)

        • I am not sure what we will do when the next generation comes out (8k?)
          HD -> FHD
          UHD -> FUHD?
          8K -> UHD2?

        • +3

          Perhaps it will be;

          HD -> FHD
          UHD -> FUHD
          FUHD -> FUD
          FUD -> FOOD

          then you eat your TV

        • @fastnbulbous: 8k too hard to make (16 times more pixels than FHD, dead pixels reduce yield). Try curved in two directions?

        • @alvian:
          It already exists

        • @furythree: Yep looks like LG Will be one of the first but as usual an IPS LCD Display. I wish more OLED'S Would come out
          http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/196011-lg-readies-55-inch-…

        • @furythree: Being shown at CES and being generally available for purchase are very different things. They've been showing OLED TVs since 2008, and every year since then was supposed to be the year in which OLEDs take over the world. And what do we have at the end of 2014? Samsung is rarely seen in showrooms, and no new model is coming any time soon; you have to look hard to find LG (contrast with the ubiquitous wall of UHDs and curved LCDs); Panasonic and Sony gave up.

          The yield of panel fabrication is still low that OLED TVs are close to commercially unviable (Dec 2012: 10% raw, 30% post-repair, Apr 2014: LG reported 70% (industry observers doubt the figure), Samsung reported 40-50% but gave up for now). What kind of yield are they achieving with 8k panels? Nobody is saying.

          Laser TV was demonstrated at CES in 2006 and was commercially available in 2008. Mitsubishi's model was withdrawn in 2012. LG's laser TV made a brief appearance as a HN exclusive in 2013 for $9000. Where is it now? I don't see it being promoted.

        • @alvian:

          you said it was too hard to make

          I simply stated they HAVE made it

          nobody said anything about mass production

          its too expensive at the current scale to mass produce

          I feel your frustrations

    • How happy are you with it?

      • +1

        it's pretty good IMHO, 100hz takes a while to get used to coming from a standard lcd/led tv set but otherwise ok.

        there's not much in the menu options though so if you're after being able to scale 1:1 or choose settings like that you'll be disappointed

        if you're connecting up to things where you control the output anyway it works well. i'd say the interpolation works pretty well too and upscales decently

        • +1

          Like wise I am very happy with my 55 inch FHD LED. Great quality for the price. I am using it only as a bedroom TV with FTA. Prefer viewing sports in the lounge room.

        • How did you set it to 100hz? I don't know how and stuck with 60hz

      • Just rem he is talking about an FHD older version so stuff was probably added to this model, there are reviews in link post :)

  • Is the 4k above 30hz? ie does it use hdmi 2?

    edit:
    seems to be 30hz only for 4k. Could be an issue for gaming or if you're silly/audacious enough to use it as a computer monitor!

    • Does it use hdmi 2?

    • USB Input: Two (JPEG Pics and MP3 Audio Only)
      Bit of a disappointing limitation, seems like nearly every TV with USB at least does some of the more common video formats, but based on this it sounds like it won't play any videos from USB.

    is seikis water resistant?

    • +1

  • 30 'hurts' ;)

    • -3

      Hold on 1 sec… Are u saying "hurts" in an Asian accent or just taking the piss out the word hz.??

      Pls don't be wacist

      • As in the refresh rate at 4K will HURT your eyes looking at it…

        • It's a little confusing the specs say
          Refresh Rate: 120Hz (4k2k)
          and then 30hz (4k2k)(Hdmi Only)
