      Where did you bring it?

      • +36

This deal has bought me further shame…
        😜

        • +1

          I hope it was cheap.

        • +1

        • @madmouse58: You bought them and brought them with you?

        • +1

@damnable: yeah only lost $4 so I missed my bought coffee for the morning and broke even.

        • +8

@whodidthat: mate, you know he made a mistake and owned up to it.

just take after elsa and let it go

        • @Chongy288:
I was making fun of your wording suggesting you purchased shame. :)

    • Me too! I know we can refund, tried before, but not sure if $2 savings is worth

      • I bought 2 camelbaks. How does the refund work?

        • +11

You have to go to the church and pray.

        • @varunsic:

Well that's going to be a problem then. I'm banned. Long story.

        • +1

just contact the online store, they will tell you to bring them to any DS and then email them back the store location once you drop them. they will collect and then refund later expect a week or so.

        • @erwinsie: If not sent, can't they just cancel it?

        • +1

          @varunsic: YOU CAN TRY CALL

        • @erwinsie: But i didn't buy any.

    • -ignore this-

    • since when did dse sell drink bottles?

  • +2

Damn just bought $100 from supercheap auto!

    • +2

      I feel you man..

    • +1

      Ouch!! lol

    • What's done is done. If you are so tight, should have waited for SCA's usual 20% discount which happens every couple of months.

      • Why wait for 20% when your radiator is leaking, and coolant + demineralised water are on sale. This would have been the icing on the top

        • Oh well in your case, you can't wait for sale then.

        • @edfoo: yeah my radiator fan had to be replaced as well. Funny how one problem uncovers many more

        • @cowiie: Hmm, I don't suppose SCA sell radiator fan do they?

        • @edfoo: not for my car, they only have generic fans.

  • +3

Nice. Time to get Note4 from dickies. With discount comes to $680.

  • +1

Fitbit $78 Pebble $88 look good right now. Note 4 $679 too.

  • +1

Dick Smith up to their usual. Chromecast down to $39 because normally it's $45.88. Because yeah right that's a price I've seen it advertised for in the past. Isn't it funny how 0.85 * $45.88 is almost exactly $39. Mind you JB is selling them for $49, Harvey Norman for $43, Bing Lee $48. So it's still the cheapest price, but not by 15%. I would care about all this more if I was actually interested in Chromecast.

    • +16

      Don't buy it then

      • +5

I won't buy it but there is a tradition here of warning people when something advertised or posted as a bargain isn't one. 10 up votes for that comment is suspicious.

    • Yeah and it's pretty much on sale for $39 at some shop all the time…

    • +3

Retail price is $49.95 so you're actually getting more than 15% off. You can't expect "15% off" to mean "15% off the lowest previous price we've ever sold it at".

      • +1

Who here pays RRP? In any case if it's more than 15% why aren't they advertising it as more than 15%? Who ever is in charge of promotions for DSE needs their head read.

        • Rest assured, DSE knows a lot more about promotions and marketing than you do - only Delivery Hero makes it to the front page more often. What do you want DSE to do? They want the code to apply universally as 15% off, not 15% off everything and 22% off Chromecast, and they want to sell the Chromecast for $39 because that's the magic price that drives sales. Seems obvious to lower the sticker price.

It's only dodgy if list price rises to above RRP before the discount is applied. If everything listed is at or below 15% of RRP then they're doing everything they need to.

        • @batiudrami:

I don't claim to be a marketing expert but I know when I see something illogical. DSE also get more negative comments than most here whereas a promotion is meant to make a consumer happy to return…but don't let reality get in the way of your argument. Whether it's legal or not is only the smallest part of the story. Did you see me ask anyone to report them to ACCC? No. So nice straw man but no cigar.

Now fair disclosure. Do you work for or are you immediate family of someone with a vested interest in DSE?

        • @syousef: Nope, no connection to them whatsoever.

  • +1

ive been looking for a brand name 60" for ages, its a shame the only one in stock is over 2 grand.. still kicking myself for not buying one in December when they were all cheap..

    • Costco has a sony 60" for $1259

Shame masters is so much more expensive than other retailers.

  • Dse eBay site more expensive than see main site office h&s $99 on main site 137 on eBay store

    • +2

I think it depends on products. Some of the products are actually cheaper on eBay store.
i.e. Sony Waterproof Walkman from DS vs DS ebay. Like from all the other eBay deals we've had, Dick's being a dick about the sales, but there are some decent deals out there.

  • +10

Getting sick of DSE's ebay bullshit.

Eneloops are all on special for $17.60, bringing them down to $14.95 when you use the discount code.. which is the regular special price.

    • If the 8 pack isn't $14.95 Click & Collect then their too expensive.
Just get the Aldi lsd 4 pack $6.99 if you can't wait. Made in China like Eneloops just not as pretty.

  • Luck of the dice :)

Pricing error? $1299 RRP (and on their website). Over $1000 at all the usual suspects.

2 people have snapped one up today. Would have been 3 but the reviews put me off a bit.

supercheap usually has 20% off weekends quite regularly - wouldn't that be cheaper?

      Refer to their new catalogue

    • Supercheaps current instore sale looks to be the same as the ebay one. You might get 15% on top of that?

      • Yes

$109 is the cheapest price I have ever seen for the kindle paperwhite. Amazing price considering it normally costs around $150 and the cheapest I have ever seen it is $128 from this deal. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/188223

Nexus Player is $109.65 - annoyingly no stock in store anywhere near me! Seems to be available at stores in central Sydney though.

Samsung note 4, $611 after 15% off and TRS. Must resist, must resist. Dam that note 1 is looking old.

    • +1

yeah i can get trs too, so tempted but i have note 3

    • +1

From Note 1, it would be a huge improvement (My dad moved from Note 1 to Note 3 and he was very very content).
The screen, performance, you could even get those Gear VRs if you want.

      • +4

        You are not helping me.;-)

        • +2

:) It might be days until we see price like this. ;) I love being evil.
Jokes aside, I think it's a reasonable move to go from Note 1 to Note 4 or even Note 3. Just sayin'.
That being said, I am basing my opinion on my dad's old Note 1, which had Snapdragon S3 in it along with more bloatware than Australian stock. In short, everything with the phone was lagging.

Of course, you wouldn't need to upgrade if you are fine with your phone as is. That being said I think it wouldn't be a waste of money where you spend $600~700 for a minor upgrade, at least Note 1 to Note 4 would make a difference. Just my opinion though.

        • @AznMitch: yeah, even note 2 much better than note 1 i heard.
          first generation usually crap.
just buy and think later lol

    • I've had the note 1 through to 4. Its a no brainer if you're still on the 1 and now have a cheap note 4 staring at you.

The jump was big from 1-2, 2-3. With 3-4 the gap isn't that big, but with the 4 you do get a slightly noticeably sharper screen, much better front camera and really good rear camera with optical stabilisation. Not as much of a performance upgrade when compared to the Note 3, but for this sort of money you'd be crazy not to upgrade (Even if you're currently on a 3).

Seems like ebay responded with this sudden code release so that the stores couldn't raise their prices like they have in the past (when they had days to 'prepare' for the sale).

    • +4

doesn't work that way, and chromecast is an example that DSE were well aware of the sales before ebay put the coupon codes up.

  • Can you go pick these up at DSE after ordering or do you have to wait for them to email/sms you?

Last time they said they ran out of stock after 5 days of no contact and just cancelled the order :(…

    • you need to wait :(

  • I couldn't apply the code, does anyone have the same problem?

We're currently having technical difficulties processing your code
Your voucher or redemption code wasn't applied

      • Thanks for the feedback. I think I'm looking at something more in the range of 1tb hard drive, 8gb ram, 2tb graphics card…. There were some in store but to be honest, I'm not 100% on what I should be looking at.

        • +1

2tb graphics card?! That's better graphics than real life ;-)
