    ty for props.

anyone had experience with this seller?

  • +4

Cant edit the post for some reason.

But to ensure you receive a sealed, unopened box just request for it in the comments section at the checkout.

    • +4

Don't know why I was negged for that.

    • +1

Seems like the seller doesn't accept 'special messages' so I just messaged the seller instead.

      • i got a reply regarding this

"Please note we source the stock from different countries. The box is Never sealed by LG but by distributors themselves. As we are selling import stock, the box is not sealed as its factory default packaging. Nevertheless, we ensure the phone is 100% New and Unused.
In order not to cause any trouble, we are holding your order at the moment. Could you kindly confirm ASAP if you still like to continue with the transaction?"

  • +1

I wonder if these will get much cheaper?

    • It's inevitable for any tech items like these to decrease in price, or any item for that matter. I'm sure everyone who is about to purchase a high priced item such as this asks the same question. :)

    • Seems to be dropping $10 per week for the last few weeks….at this rate should be around $100 by the end of the year ;-) Wishfull thinking……

    • +2

At a certain point they sort of bottom out and don't really get any cheaper, I'd say this is getting close to that point, maybe it will drop just below $350 in 6 months but that will be it.

      • Really shows how large a margin they made selling it for $700 a few months ago

        • +2

Whose margins though, manufacturer or distributor? Also manufacturing processes improve to increase yields. They also consider the R&D paid for now, but needed to higher prices earlier to cover those development costs.

        • @FabMan: That's a good point - once they break even they can cut prices as they're not aiming to recoup fixed costs any longer.

  • Have asked in the eBay deal thread. Can anyone comment on any shutter delay or lag?
Coming from a Nexus 4 and really want to have a camera that you press the button and it takes the photo.

    • I have only ever known iPhones to achieve this.

    • Sneak into a carrier store and play with it. Best way to find out imo.

    • +1

You could use one of those Pressy things.

Im also coming from a N4, I do want to upgrade the camera, but Im too attached to my baby! I dont know what to dooo #firstworldproblems

    • +3

Camera is pretty fast with laser focus. You can also take pictures from the small circle on smart cover.

      TIPS

Stock ROM with stock launcher is laggy. Change to other launchers (Nova, SL, etc.) to get a smoother experience. Visit XDA threads for LG G3 to find more ROMs and Mods for this phone.

      http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3

WARNING: Rooting will void warranty of your phone.

You can unroot your phone to bring it back to stock if you want to claim warranty.

    • specs say 0.3 seconds to take the photo.

    • +2

Almost forgot to mention that there are many ways to activate the CAMERA and capture pictures in LG G3:

      ACTIVATE CAM

      • Camera button in App list, icon in Home screen, or widget; or
      • Swipe the CAMERA icon when in lock screen; or
      • Press and hold VOLUME DOWN button for a few seconds when the screen is off; or
      • (This one is genius) Use quick circles to take quick pictures without opening the cover. (I usually use it to secretly take pictures of goods in stores without being caught by the staff's prying eyes. Don't use it for illegal stuff though!)

      CAPTURE PICS

      • Traditionally, press the Capture button on the bottom of the screen; or
      • Press either the VOLUME UP or DOWN button on the back; or
      • (Another genius idea) Say any of these words "LG", "Cheese", "Kimchi", "Whisky" or "Smile"; or
      • (For selfie addicts) Make a PAPER (or full open hand) sign and then make a ROCK (or fist) gesture. A perfect selfie will be taken 3 seconds after that.

      LG -> Life's Good!

      • Thanks 721411. Would always change the launcher, no plans on rooting straight off though for another ROM.

So sick of the Nexus 4, pressing the shutter button and the photo taking 2 seconds later. Not much good for pets/kids etc.

        • Vanilla stock (for Nexus devices) and Cyanogen Mod ROMs are always suffered from bad camera qualities.

You can keep your G3 unrooted but you'll miss many awesome ROMS and features that have been being developed for it.

Anyway, check XDA forum for G3!

      • WOW..
        Does "Lucky Goldstar" also work?

        • Of course it does. Leokki Geumseong

  • +1

Thanks…Grabbed one as I have to send my note edge to get fixed, can't charge it…So didn't want to be without a phone.

    • +7

      Money bags.

      • +6

        Probably imports eneloops…

    • +3

Should be using your $40 Huawei from Coles

  • +3

This phone is fantastic bang for buck. The screen is glorious, and battery life is better than my old s4 and s3 before it.

    • Bang for the money indeed, especially compared to the price of the one plus one

  • +1

    1 year Aus warranty …..thats tempting…

    • +1

Just an FYI, it is a grey import

      • I know ….thats only reason i m not pulling trigger (recently i went for Note 2 screen replacement for 55$, I was refused because it was grey import)

      • +2

Based on the whirlpool posts, warranty from these guys seems much better than eGlobal and DWI.

        • +1

yep lots of good reports. I rather purchase from this seller than eglobal, dwi or t-dimension.

    • +1

Don't forget, item location is HK :)

  • +4

bit the bullet. she is purchased!

    • +3

upgrading from my $40 Huawei Y550!

    • Nice one! I'm about to buy it soon, just finding a good case to maximise my cashback! Already got the phone and a Nillkin glass screen protector in the cart. :D

      • let me know if you find a good case. I don't want to make the phone too chunky. just a case that will cover for scratches.

      • +2

Spigen Slim Armour is considered the best. I have one and it's pretty good.

        • Where did you buy yours from?

        • @TheOneWhoKnocks: You missed this one

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/192327

Got 2 from this sale. Pretty damn good.

        • @varunsic:
I got 2 as well lol. But I find that it affects wireless charging a lot, so I'm going naked again. But its a really nice case for sure.

        • i got my slipcase from ebay for $13 plus free screen protector.. it's pretty good, slim, protects from scratches, not sure about fall.
I use to use otter box, so it feels really slim.

        • @stumo: Haven't used the wireless charging yet. Will comment afterwards. I am currently using a knockoff Quick Circle.

    • +1

Hope you root her soon! ;)

  • +1

    Will this available for TRS?

    • +1

Nope, grey import does not attract GST.

  • +2

but LG improved re. firmware updates tho? I still have the bitter aftertaste when my optimus 3D was never updated onto ICS a few years ago…(this was despite it was supposedly on their update schedule mind u)

  • One small niggle - ships with a U.S. charger. If you don't have a spare, you may have to factor in $10 for a Telstra cruze to grab that one..

  • +1

This seller is selling Australian stock.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/191242135755

    • +6

      That's a grey import too.

    • not sure because in package includes its mentioned "1 x Australian adaptor (gift)"

      • it's probably just a converter from overseas head to australia head. It should be called australian charger.

      • That means the phone has a USA/UK/HK power adaptor and you need an adaptor to plug in the AC adaptor. They're usually called "travel plugs" or something. I don't know which one this phone is but the adapters are usually universal.

The ones they throw in are usually not worth the hassle of using though as they're usually really loose, I suggest buying your own.

  • OK finally bit the bullet and upgraded my 14 month old Xperia Z Ultra.

    • I'm getting rid of a Z Ultra as well funnily enough. I hate it, I'll never buy a sony phone again. :|

The phantom touch issue makes any nice things about it as a device pointless because I'm walking around with a timebomb in my pocket.

      • annoyed me occasionally, usually just when I had sweat all over the screen.
Wipe with a shirt or cloth and it's good.
It's a great phone. My biggest gripe is the sound volume level. It's a bit soft.

  • +1

Becareful when you are buying two of them. The discount is not 10% when you buy two units in one transaction.

Also, I bought 2 of them separately, and both times they show that the 10% is applied. However, when I finalise the purchase, the 2nd purchase suddenly is full price again.

Just a heads up for anyone wanting to buy more than one. Now I'm waiting for the seller's respond regarding this.

    • or you could buy 2 seperately?

      • I did try to buy them separately but I couldn't get the code to work on the 2nd purchase. Apparently, the code can only be once per eBay/PayPal account. In the end, I used 2 different eBay/PayPal account to buy 2.

        • yeah i realised it was one time use just as i posted it couldnt delete ;)

it was a max $50 discount anyways

  • Damn , this phone price keep coming down 2 weeks in row DWI, ebay ,etc

  • Very tempting indeed! But I've talked myself into waiting for the next big eBay sale and get the G4 with it's outstanding f/1.8 aperture camera.

  • can you use cash rewards after you have placed/purchased the order?

    • +1

no you have to first start from cashrewards and click through to eBay and then buy to get cashrewards

      • bugger. thanks.

  • Hmmz, have a perfectly good working phone.. damnit rationality stop getting in the way of my impulse buys :(

    • I'm facing the same delimma however the battery in my nexus 5 has started to wear out noticeably and I'm now very tempted

  • +6

    'Staaay on taaarget. Must ..holdout…for G4 launch…date.

  • Argh… I already ordered my Elephone P7000.

Should I cancel and get the LG G3 instead?
Upgrading from an LG G2 that's around 10 months old.

    • +4

      Yes

    • You can't resist, can you?

      Follow OZBargain's call.

      You can't go wrong…

  • Hi guys I just purchased this using the code and the eBay transaction says I got the discount but my PayPal has been charged the full amount. Is this normal? Do i get the discount amount back?

    • I doubt it. Talk to PayPal people asap

    • I got it like that sometime, and got credited back the difference by paypal.

    • It happened to me too when I tried to buy twice. The seller told me that I have to talk to eBay/PayPal about it. I just asked the seller for a full refund for one and buy that again using another account.

  • +2

LG G3 ? or Asus Zenfone ? or one plus one?

    • +2

      Which Zen?
      G3 for me.
      Thanks OP.

    • +1

      G3 hands down.

To me, the Zenfone is a poor man's LG Issai knockoff, trying to punch above it's weight. The One plus One is meant to be very desirable due to the price, but now the g3 and the one are very similarly priced, so that want factor is gone.

      Just my two cents.

    • +1

      Z2

      • +1

Lol! Have you got yours delivered?

        • @rodinthink: Are you gonna wait for it or get refund? Take money back and buy something better!

        • @721411:

I wait for a really great phone deal.
If there is one , I cancel the order and get refund.

If the Z2 arrived then I'm also happy
DOesn't matter, I have no use of that money sitting around in my bank account, unless if it's urgent

HOw about you?I don't think you ordered Z2

        • @rodinthink:

Well if you have no use for the money sitting in your account I could do with a holiday to Bali thx :p

        • @ankor:
          Im a loan shark
non si vuole fare confusione con me ;)

        • @rodinthink: I didn't order it mate. I'm happy with my G3 and Lumia 530.

Last night, I saw a $249 Optus-locked Galaxy S3 4G at Kmart Cas.Sqr. It's an old phone and, of course, inferior to Z2 but it's a cheapo with 4G and SuperAMOLED screen (not full HD though).

          Specs: http://www.samsung.com/global/galaxys3/specifications.html

non si vuole fare confusione con me ;)

I thought you spoke español but then Google translate told me that was italiana.

  • +3

Thanks OP picked one up. Look forward to seeing yet another G3 deal tomorrow for cheaper….

  • Any advantage of moto X 2nd gen (600+) over this phone? If no why moto X is so expensive?

  • Thanks OP. Grabbed one
