Yeah the voucher is required but my local RR accepts on-screen viewing (No need to print)
Regular Price?
Good deal, if only my local RR didnt treat me like a dodgy thief whenever i present a voucher lol
Ozbargain spirit is strong in this one :D
If only they had a Red Rooster in the Perth CBD
don't they have one in the carillon city arcade food hall?
cos i remember the manager there refusing to honour a legit voucher because it was printed in black & white
It doesn't show up on Google Maps and on its website (carillon city has a website omg) theres only Oporto, perhaps it got rebranded to Oporto like the rest of the branches.
Yeah it did, it used to be RR but now it's Oporto.
OP, since only 1 product is involved, give the Price, thanks.
(How else can we assess this as a "good" deal?
Last time I ate at RR, the product seemed to be
pre-made & sealed elsewhere, & - cooked in-bag
- the bread was soggy & unpleasant.
BTW, that time was also a BOGOF "deal"
- NOT a good deal, IMO…)
Rooster rolls are made from chickens that don't get sold. They make them up and keep them in the fridge, then chuck the bag in the microwave when you order one.
That is true, the last time i ordered one of their burgers it was really dry and stuck together. It is 100% microwaved.
How do you know this?
I used to work at Red Rooster.
@martinj: Rooster rolls seem like a big seller; is it just made from unsold chicken? It seems like they would need to intentionally make too much to supply the rolls, no?
@Son ofa Zombie: A Red Rooster store can't afford to run out of chicken. It takes an hour to cook chicken, so it's not like they can just ask a customer to wait if they run out. It's always better to cook to many chickens and then make rooster rolls, than to run out of chicken. It's reasonably common for individual stores to have specials on rooster rolls because they've cooked too many chickens.
@martinj: Not better for the "extra" chickens… ;-/
PS We cook raw chicken bits in a few min's in our microwave. Maybe they could offer freshly-cooked chicken to (the first few) folks ordering online, & try to start the ordered chicken bits cooking ASAP after they hang-up.
Death in a bag - I'm serious. I used to buy these from another chicken place ("Henny Penny" stores in NSW). They do the same thing - use unsold chickens, into a roll, in the fridge - microwave next day. Every single time I had one, I got food poisoning. Told the store manager the last time it happened - he said it was impossible. (Yeah right.)
So, you settled for "impossible" from the manager…?!?
When will Aussies learn:
Tell an advocate, NOT the opponent (here: Mgr);
Get your money back, & Report the case(s) of food-poisoning to BOTH Health Dept & Restaurant Food Inspection folks; get them cleaned-up, before a child dies;
Sue for your trouble, etc.
The price differs depending on the state you are in

What's the price?
my red rooster had stupid price.. $7.39 ?? lol (swan st, richmond)
The best way to get around that is to ask for a chicken roll no mayo. Which in my case works a treat as I don't like mayo. They usually don't have those ready to go.
I do the same thing :-)
didn't they have 2 for 8$
Yeah normally do 2 for $8.
keen to try their potato bake!
Does anyone know if you can use the $5 voucher from the Red Royalty signup toward this? http://www.redrooster.com.au/redroyalty
Edit: Not even available in Australia anyway :(
"Edit: Not even available in Australia anyway :("
Red Royalty is only available in Western Australia, which last time I checked, Was in Australia.
Continental, sure.
California - like WA - should opt out of USA (as Scotland tried to do the UK, & may try again, if recent election results are any indication…), but for different reasons:
California has lots of Smart, Creative folks
WA has a lot of $$ from Mining, but - unlike Norway - doesn't seem to be smart enough to invest their windfalls as wisely
(Norway has BOTH a huge Future-Fund AND a Thorium R&D lab.
BTW, SA's NFC Royal Commission mentions Thorium with Uranium;
it's at least thinking about the Future… ;-)
IM WAITTING FOR DELIVERY HERO'S CODE TONIGHT
Wait no more… It's ONNNN
Is the gravy less crappy than KFC's?
Just had it and its very run of the mill. Salty and very little flavour. Taste more like its for chips.
Cheers, is the voucher required? like do I need to print it?
