Includes 2x2TB hard drives.
Diskless version is $89. And you can use your own hard drives, but only a select few are supported, and mixing two different brands gives mixed results.
if this includes harddisk
Of course it includes the hard drives otherwise it would just be a bare nas with no 4TB mentioned!
If you click on the link it clearly states 2 x 2TB drives.
Lenovo Iomega ix2-200d 2-BAY(2x2TB) Network Storage 70A69001AP Marvel 6282 1.6GHz 256MB Max2SII RAID 1:A compact and affordable desktop network storage that is perfect for small businesses, home offices or advanced home networks, offering content sharing, data protection and basic video surveillance capabilities.
What brand is the hard drive?
I don't know but an educated guess would be Hitachi as they are cheap and linked to Lenovo…
Seagate Barracuda
anyone know what hdd are included ? WD red ? Seagate ?

not that big a deal..also avaiable at ebay:

Yeah I agree, and the item you've linked is a much better deal at $30 more …
Iomega support generally sucks, so for simple backups this would be great, for more NAS features or if something goes horribly wrong you're generally SOL.
Can you please help -which is recommended - iomega Ix2-200d or HP Microserver N54L for basic home use - File server and music/media management?
N54L isn't a ready-use NAS - it's a general purpose computer with 5 disk bays.
Thanks AlexF.
I had had a iomega ix2-200d for many years now (got it from amazon before they were released in .au). They are an "OK" NAS for sharing files. I upgraded the drives in mine about 2 years ago. Its never missed a beat.
Good to hear the ix2 is decent, had 3 ix4's and all of them had crappy Seagate disks in them, 10 of 12 drives failed :/
zebra, are you saying you bought this ix2-200D in say 2010, and upgraded the drives in 2013 (as opposed to replacing faulty drives)?
Does it stream 1080p content over gigabit network and Ethernet over powerline satisfactorily?
Also the current model has a different facia to the original mesh type, so does it mean it has upgraded firmware features?
