It's a perfect gift for amaysim though.
Change your payment method to Bpay after signing up and creating an account with Amaysim, then they can't automatically take money out of your credit card for a 2nd month.

Doubt they will send out the sim if credit authorisation fails. Likely they will request valid payment option before processing application. Also, payment by credit card is generally sufficient for identity check when setting up a sim.

Guys I don't think this is better than doing a referral. The referral is $19.90 for the first month (of any of the unlimited plans, including the 7GB, I believe, and then you can downgrade for future months) but you also get a $10 credit, plus the person that refers you gets $10. You can use the Amaysim random referral grey box in any of the previous Amaysim deals.
Stay in control - pay before you use by recharging online or using a voucher (30 day plans will auto-renew if you use a credit/debit card). Any excluded services need to be added on top.

I have done this before (used Amaysim for first month because of special offer and then cancelled before it renewed) and I assure you, you can definitely turn off Auto-renew and not get charged for following months. In fact I am going to do it again with this deal. Wait until you've actually activated the SIM, and the right options should appear on the page.

Doh! I bought this deal in haste thinking I could activate anytime later at my convenience but it turns out the code must be used by 10 June to claim/order the SIM card which I read elsewhere comes pre-activated though the month may or not begin on first use - call/SMS/data connection. The would mostly achieve what I wanted, if I can simply not use it until I wanted to start the 30 days. Can someone please confirm? I'm new to Amaysim. And, it seems they require you to supply auto-payment details so it needs a request or account login selection to cease the monthly $44.90 auto-charge.
Yeah, I've read about the auto-activated thing, but when I purchased a SIM just before Xmas, I didn't activate till NYE & it went for 30 days (30 Jan), so not pre-activated for me. Did it again a week ago, didn't activate for about 4 days after receiving the SIM & the 30 days didn't start till I activated.
So might be hit and miss, or it's the way you purchase the SIM that makes it pre-activated.
if you want a months calls data for free just use yatango. last time I checked was 1gb and 500$ calls/sms free. just pay $2 for a Sim at DSE
