MS give a 3 year warranty on these things, plus Falcons have been fairly rock solid. So have Jasper units.

I can confirm I got this deal with a price match at another HN store. Took in the print out of catalogue to my local Harvey Norman Darwin, they were happy to match it. The manager said that it was a crazy price and he was not sure what the hell the other store was thinking but he was still happy to honour it. Made it easy since they were only matching another HN Store and even more helpful that the printout showed 3 stores doing the deal :) Thanks to the OP.
I got a console with HDMI, does that mean anything - old or new? can't be bothered opening it up right now :)

maybe Jasper, cannot confirm as i haven't brought one. But if you get it in another state which isn't promoting that, they'd prob give you what ever stock they have on the floor.
Since their staff prob don't even know the difference, and most buyers prob don't know about it anyways.

I just got this from the Adelaide City Cross Harvey Norman. Looks to be a 12.1A as well.
I showed them the photo from this ad, they called the store to confirm it and I was out of there in about 25 minutes. Sweet.
I just got mine today too in Adelaide. The branch on Port Road. They've got a pyramid pile on floor stock with a sign saying "Ask our staff for a deal, we'll beat any price" :D Not much hassle at all & they could do discounts on extended warranty. Model with HDMI & 256mb builtin memory storage too.
The Marion Road branch wouldn't price match it though.

I can confirm that they price-matched this at the Harvey Norman Castle Hill store. Showed them the catalogue printout, they checked on it on their computer and matched it right away. Didn't take long at all!

Did you try the Port Rd or City Cross stores?
Went to Port Rd on the weekend with a mate and we both picked one up no probs….
I can confirm that HN in QLD, are matching the price. Walked into Morayfield HN store, presented a print out of the above picture from the catalogue; they talked about it for a bit and said no worries as its another HN store with the ad. Also added that it would be old stock they were trying to clear out from those 3 stores. None the less, I was in and out in 15 mins; no phone calls, no hassles.
Note: I tried BigW, Target, Kmart, EBGames, Clive Peters and no one would consider matching that price.
Also; I confirmed that the console I received is a "Jasper" chipset. "12V….12,1A"
Best of luck to anyone else looking to buy! At this price, purchase the XB live kit and you have a HDD, headset and subscription cheaper then a regular console @ retail price. BARGIN!
I tried at Broadway, Auburn and Moorepark HN and they all said NO.
Best they could do was 229 or something.
