QLDer have to work on that Monday :(
No public holiday for us
Um the drivers are getting paid… They're not working for free.
Yep, they're getting paid for it.
Oops, I assumed that "volunteered" meant unpaid… Makes a lot more sense now. Sorry
Volunteered to work, not sure if that means they are doing it for free or they are volunteering to work for public holiday rates?
Yep volunteered to work at double pay! Now I'm off to get an enterprise agreement…..
Last time I looked, WA is the only state which gets Monday holiday (government's website) in lieu of Saturday. Also public transport is free on ANZAC Saturday in Perth.
Correct. But ACT public servants (not to be confused with federal public servants) have the day off in their EA.
they took 'er holidays
Booo as my route doesn't operate on the Saturday timetable. The bus I would have to take is a 50 minutes ride (compared to a 15 minutes drive). So I've driving.
Unfortunately this is not a public holiday, It's a very confusing day off. ACT local government get it, and only some government departments get it (but only if it's written in their agreement). Public schools are off, but not private. And if you work in private enterprise i don't believe you get the day off either :-(
