        I have to agree with mattgal here. Quite often the decision I want to make is: buy something now, at a not so great special, but at least not at full price, or wait for the new catalogues to take effect to get a better special.

        I need to know Wednesday's specials no later than Tuesday. Since paper catalogues arrive Sunday or Monday at my house that works. Having the above list at the same time would make planning ahead much more convenient. Late as it is now all it helps me do is check that I did not miss a great deal.

    honest question, i need to get back into eating fish (i love it, but my wife hates it therefore ive eaten literally no fish in the last few years) so i wanna order a lot of it and just live off fish for awhile. Was going to grab kilos of that basa, but after reading that article and found out that its catfish in a very dirty river, i dont really want to.

    whats the next cheapest fish thats actually healthy to eat? thanks. (and it must still taste good!)

      most fish contain contaminants such as pcbs, dioxins.

      apparently meat, poultry & dairy is just as bad

      low levels of contaminants in food is pretty much ubiquitous.

      Frozen basa is fine a few times but you get over it pretty quick. Lots of salt and butter is your friend here.
      My advice is to avoid the supermarkets and rent-driven overpriced westfield shops completely and go to a proper fish market.
      Find a place where you can get decent fillets of swordfish/tuna/prawns for under $20/kg. Cut a piece and if you can eat it raw with some lemon, it's perfect.

      If your in Sydney there are plenty of choices for cheap decent fresh seafood. If you're in canberra like me, you're pretty screwed.
      I tend to avoid the scaremongering when it comes to the cultivation of fish. My simple rule though is Aussie > anywhere else. Not cause of any patriotism, simply because my thinking is it takes less time from being caught to hit my frying pan, hence fresher.

      If you want to be healthy try steaming your fish. Morwong is a great fish, its usually about $6-10 at the markets but it depends on season. Google should have some articles about morwong fishing in Australia. Not as great for frying though.
