  • Happy to share my code if anyone wants this deal

  • I don't know anything about home surveillance but this seems like it could be useful to monitor home deliverie. Any good reviews on this model?

  • Not a bad little system. Pick one up when DS had the 4 camera version (G2740) for $99.95

    • 4 cameras version for $100 and this 2 cameras version for $278? So this isn't really a bargain then?

      • It was technically a price error but DS honoured it. At the time RRP was $599

  • would love a code.

    • thanks @dosada, legend! Camera purchased.

  • Sorry, all gone.

Got two codes left, if anyone need one pm me. First in first served.

  • I don't think it makes much sense to post the image just like that. So no one knows if the code is used or not. I would never take the chance and go to the shop which a code that just "might" work.

I have this system and honestly, I couldn't recommend it.

    Pro's:
    -Wireless
    -View on mobile devices
-Tablet is portable and can be detached from the main base.
-Easy to pair cameras and to install.

    Con's:
-Wireless range is only just ok, I live in a brick veneer house and I have all of my cameras operating in and on the outside of my garage, which is 6m at the furthest point from the house and both the internal and external cameras have 1-2 bars of reception and will drop in and out of range from time to time. This could be solved by moving the base closer to the cameras, which isn't so easy (more on that below)
-The main base has to be connected by ethernet cable to your modem, it will NOT work over WiFi, so if your modem location is a fair distance from where your cameras will be you might run into trouble. I solved this be using EoP, but still a pain in the arse.
-This maybe only my units, but both of my outdoor cameras have trouble switching over into night vision, which is a real concern. A hard whack with the end of a broomstick seems to help most of the time.
-Video quality is pretty poor, but good enough if you just want to be able to see if there is an intruder. Face recognition from anything more than 3m is going to be a struggle.

  • Can someone pm me a code please? I signed up a few hours ago but haven't received a code yet. If my code comes through before I head out tomorrow, I'll let you know I'm not using yours. TIA

IMO you would be much better off grabbing three of the Kmart IP camera's for $90 (or four for $120) and not being stuck with a proprietary base, proprietary software and weak ad-hoc WiFi. I got three and I have one outdoors under an eave 20 metres away from my Wifi router and it works perfectly. The pan/tilt is very handy and the free iSpy software for PC is great and the IP Cam remote app for android works perfectly for world wide remote viewing/control.

  • was looking at this earlier, however from what i read, you can not record, and view over the internet at the same time.. which to me seems pointless.. so if you enable viewing on the internet viewing.. you essentially need to be watching it 100% of the time to see if there is a burglar.. or alternatively.. if you are recording to the sd card.. then you can not view over the internet.. so you will not now you got robbed until you get home.. that's a show stopper for me.. can someone confirm this?
