Happy Easter Everyone!

Used it on my mum's account, and it offered the discount just fine - so doesn't appear to be targeted.

I swapped across to these guys during the last special, from unblock.us. I find the service exceptional, and granular control of the DNS for each streaming service is fantastic.

Getflix supported Netflix AUS/NZ launch on the same day, and even have a DNS override so that the traffic doesn't go overseas for Australian-switched DNS (ie watching local Netflix for example, on an unmetered ISP eg Optus/iiNet).

Their support is great too. They have lots of support pages.

Pricing for the annual plan is usually AUS$37.92. Discounted price should be AUS$24.19 with Facebook-like.
(thanks to thelute for the mathematics correction!)

    • Basically budget to be metered for content not sourced from Netflix-AU
But, there are reports that some shows only available via Netflix-US are un-metered for a few iiNet customers - No certainty as to which/when and truly YMMV

  • Thanks alot for the answers, i can already use US netflix for free (metered) using Hola extension for chrome. I wont benefit from getflix

  • This is great but it only has instructions for the 360 not the xBox one. Do I still need a US live account for xBox one since it has the Netflix app right there?

    • I accesed the US netflix on my xbone simply by changing the region to US and using free hola extension on chrome to make my account

      • Yep, that's the beauty of Chrome… same applies on a Windows pc or Linux I'm guessing.

Thanks warwickjames!! I literally just signed up for the annual subscription. Very happy about the savings.

There are reports starting to come through of Netflix US content coming through as unmetered…

    http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?r=46445236#…

Still early days but this could be great news for those with iiNet or Optus.

The content is pushed on to the OCAs and then pushed to the customers from there. It looks like the same content is pushed worldwide to the OCAs.

    • My US Netflix is definitely coming through as metered content with Internode. YMMV w/ Optus/iiNet direct.

  • It all depends what CDN you connect to. If you press Ctrl + Shift + Alt + D it should tell you what CDN you connect to. If it's an Australian one, you can get quota free. If it's a US one, it will be metered.

Every time you stream you could connect to a different CDN. So far I've been connected to Adelaide (most of the time), Perth and Brisbane.

Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback!

I'll try to clear up some of the confusion…. this is a 15% off (for liking us on Facebook) + 40% off (for annual subscription) offer - the regular price is $3.95 per month, and without this offer you can claim the 15% Facebook discount and a 20% annual subscription discount - this offer doubles your annual discount from 20% to 40%. This represents almost a 50% saving when the 2 discounts are applied.

Now, some users are billed in AUD and others in USD… we used to detect your location all bill you in your local currency, however, this caused too much confusion (and it seems it's still haunting us!!) so about 2 months ago we standardised on USD for all new accounts. We did this as we are now servicing more international customers than domestics customers, plus it simplifies our new affiliate program!

Thanks again for your support, i hope this clears up some of the confusion :-)

Is it possible that we can call support or something and be switched to an AUD account? Saves on conversion fee… and also saves on difference in exchange rate! Possible?

    • Hi Rep, can confirm anything about being unmetered for US netflix?

  • Will this allow me to play American Netflix through Chromecast whereas ZenMate can't?

    • No idea what zenmate is, but yes.

  • So just wondering, can this also be classified as a VPN?. As currently have pia, and looking to get something to watch US Netflix through my WDTV live media player and do away of paying for an extra VPN.

    • Hi, Yes, you can use Getflix with your WD TV Live to watch US Netflix without an additional VPN :-) We have instructions on our website for setting up your WD.

Doesn't stack with existing 40% off offer :-(

    I'll keep my $14.04 AUD subscription :-)

Any reasons why we shouldnt use dns4me instead of Getflix?

    • +1

Good question. dns4me is AUD$23.32 with a Facebook like.

    • +2

      I went this dns4me
can share it over 3 households too

      • I've been really happy with getflix but sharing across households is a book selling point for me and may well entice me to switch.

      • It is pretty compelling, especially if all you use is Netflix/Hulu. If you have multiple households or want to share on mobile broadband or something, I'd say dns4me is a killer for the price!

      • I tried dns4me as they have a free trial, but no thumbnails / pictures load up on my tv. Is that normal? Will this happen with Getflix?

  • Hey Getflix - Any plan to have a server in France?

  • +1

When entering the promo code says expired even though the banner says available until 8th April 23:59 GMT+10.
Expired earlier than advertised and i missed out. Not Happy. Guess ill just sign up for dns4me instead.

    • Yep I have the same problem too :(

GetFlix rep… for us who tried to use the discount and couldn't, can we get another deal going ?
    Ill sign up if so
