Was down in TAS for work last week and my current mobile provider has no reception in the area i was at. Gone into Vodafone shop in Eastlands Shopping center, Rosny Park to grab a prepaid to tie me over. The Sales told me there is some exscluive deal for TAS only and I walked out upgrading my Hot for Vodafone plan to $50.00 sim only with 30% off for 12mths. I thought that's not a bad deal with 3GB Data and inc. calls to overseas.

I think the sales mentioned if for selected few regions .. but I am sure it is whole of TAS. maybe check with Vodafone.
it was a good deal and also reception/ data speed has been ok while I was down there.
AUSPOST has 50% sale for TELSTRA, OPTUS and VODA $30 sim packs until 15/3.
Some branches sell $30 sim pack for 1 cent if you buy $30 recharge voucher.you are referring to Prepaid, whereas this bargain in on Sim Only plan which is for 12 months.
anyone know if they have this in sydney region as well? Do you get free 1 gb for the first 12 months if you are a student?
not sure about sydney region… but he did asks me if I had a student card for the extra 1GB . unfortunately I dont :)
Nice deal. I thought I had done well with this…..
- Son was on an existing $50 SIM only plan
- Went in-store and they they did not allow the $5 off and extra 1GB for students on existing accounts.
- Rang up, went from billing to cancellations……
- Ended up with the same plan for $40, extra 1GB + 6mths Spotify free but locked in for 24mths. Basically 20% off
I wonder if the 30% off is ongoing?
30% off my $50.00 sim only for the duration of the 12 months contract.
I had a Voda store offer me 50% discount on the $50 Red plan. Signed contract to that effect and all.
Voda refused to honour it, said they'd only offer it to me for 6 months (despite the contract having no Contract term).
Dodgy bastards. Thinking of taking it to the TIO.Which store was that!
always tio. try once with the provider, if they aren't reasonable, straight to tio. don't bother wasting hours of your time on calls (ironically) or in store trying to get them to honour what they should after they've refused that first time. they only listen when fines are involved (tio).
Yeah, after I made the comment I stopped umm & aah'ing about whether I should take action or not and decided to do it.
Sorry Peanut money, best I not divulge until after my issue is resolved. :(I understand.
Store probably would of got its butt kicked by now.
I wonder what provider doesn't have reception while voda has, Telstra?

Went to a store in Melbourne… Not available
Unfortunately voda & every other provider than telstra has nil reception in 90% of Tasmania. Ask any Tasmanian, anywhere except the middle of the larger cities, anyone else's coverage is honestly just non-existent.
That's so unfair it's for tassie only
