Awesome christmas present. They'll love it, and to think it cost $99 :P Plus games are cheap as chips so no worries there!
Also good if you're old PS2 is breaking down and you want to get a new machine to make sure you can play those games if you want to.
Yeah, that's the thing - games are cheap as chips, and there are a lot of games that seem aimed at kids (dora the explorer, spongebob squarepants etc). The Xbox 360, though cheap now… doesn't have any games like that. :(
I have a gamecube as well but you pretty much can't get games for those anymore.

I think K-Mart has a better deal. PS2 and 2 dual shock controllers for $119. Maybe JB can lower their price if you mention that.
the extra controller that it comes with is generic. I've had one previously and the directional pad stopped working after a month.
How much can you pick up extra (generic) controllers for?
I just play all of my ps2 games by emulation on my pc. Makes everything so much easier!

I already got mine :) but I feel bad cos I got EB to match it. Did so cos I wanted to trade in my old phat PS2.
I can't figure these out yet… $99 is a great price for these, but…. when you can buy a 360 Arcade for a shade over $200 (or less if you're lucky enough!), why would you bother?
Or are the games that much cheaper? Good for the kids or something?
