Wheel of Brisbane $11 for 2 People (if Using Visa Checkout) through Cudo Website

440

Was on the lookout for a cheap deal to take the kids on this and as a local was not going to pay full price! Whole family (2 adults and 2 kids) for $22 and signed up for the visa checkout thingy as seemed to be worth the $6 saving. Also had to sign up to Cudo but also worth the hassle methinks.

  • Sorry I don't know much about Visa Checkout. Is it a special credit card we need to pay with or something?

    • It's pretty similar to PayPal. You don't even need to use a Visa card, MasterCard or American Express are accepted too.

      • Ah ok, cool. Purchasing 4 tickets now for my family!

  • Good price. At $17.50 each it's a total rip.

I once took a girl that I had crush on to the Wheel of Brisbane and was gonna tell her I liked her. The operator put me and her on the same carriage as another couple, even when the rest of the carriages were quite empty… fml =.=' despite that, $11.00 is a good price for 2 people lol

    • Sounds like you shouldn't of been so tight and bought the whole carriage instead lol

So what was the result of you and said girl you had a crush on?

The other couple were seasoned swingers and sniffed out Mr_vinos nervousness like sharks on seal pups. And the rest, as they say in the classics, is history….

        • fun fact: dolphins have sex for fun. sharks don't.

  • Thanks :)

  • Don't ride a bicycle to the wheel though, the security is quite 'aggressive' and told me that parking my bicycle next to the wheel was a 'security risk' and to move it???

Why does every city need to have an overpriced ferris wheel now?

Now does anyone want to have an OzB meet up here?

  • I just purchased 4 x tickets via Visa Checkout, but there was no confirmation that my payment was successful. Instead, I just got sent back to the final "payment" screen on the Cudo website.

    Anyone else have this issue?

    • Happened to me like 3 times, 3rd time successful and only one charge on my card. May have had something to do with setting up visa checkout and Cudo at the same time - there were a few email and mobile confirmations that needed to happen as well.

    • I kept getting an error message. Tried about 4 times then I added another card in the Visa Checkout and selected new card and it worked.

  • when do tickets expire?

Although it's a good price compared to what it usually costs… I wouldn't pay more than a $1 to go on this, for locals especially. View from Mt Cootha is much better than going on this. I'd even argue standing and looking from Southbank's riverside, on the ground, has a much better view than going on this for the romantically inclined…

    • it's more for the kids than anything else. i either go on or my husband. it's not worth both of us going on with the kids. they sometimes have kids ride free so we just pay for 1 adult. quite worth it when u have 3 kids. these deals are good if u have visitors. i always get these deals for guests.

the free city ferry is also great! combine it with your sthbank experience!

    • Agree. It's called the CityHopper (Red in color ferry) and usually runs every 30 minutes If I remember correctly. You It has 2 levels so you can go up the top where its more open!

I've been on this once before and it's crap.

Yeah, I heard the first part of the ride is an uplifting experience but the second part is a bit of a letdown.

      • Here take my up vote! Best post on ozbargain in a while.

  • Thanks for the comments, was tempted to give it a try but I always suspected it was a pile of crap.
    Will save my dollas
