I thought that would be obvious!!
Certain apps you download when you have a US account that you cant get with the AU require you to have DNS to work, it appears you don't want the the 2 months free so why are you here ?@Jonesy77:

Not everyone access' Hulu or Netflix and may use their console for gaming only and thus, they may not know about the VPN/DNS requirement as it is not required for simply creating or using a US PSN account.

Well actually this deal is only for those people that is interested with Hulu. If you are interested in Hulu, you will know it needs vpn/DNS. OP is wrong for claiming people with us psn account should know about vpn.

I was really interested in Netflix and Hulu when I heard about them but had I not been informed that a DNS service was required I wouldn't have known any better without researching it.
Also I emailed support and claimed that i paused my account but have still been billed for the past 4 months, I done it a day after i paid, they refunded that month and gave me 4 months credit so 5 months hulu free, would only recommend this if you have a paying account for 8 plus months, http://tinypic.com/r/o0z11k/8

if I am not wrong you don't need a US PS PLUS account in order to download HULU PLUS app.
All you have to do is create a new user and set the location to US and you're good to go.

I have both, there is not much difference in the games often but there are a few. Got it x2 in a Black Friday Sales a couple of years ago for ~USD25 ea.
You dont need the Plus membership but a US PSN Account means you can buy from Amazon PSN Digital content (Need a suitable AMEX and a random USA address) which can be awesome!
I have UnblockUS which means I can use Hulu & Netflix but I dont believe you need (Getflix or UnblockUS) for the US PSN store
Does not work from Australia, negging because it doesn't work. Is there a way around that? Nothing is mentioned in your post about it not working out of the box.

You need to use a service like Getflix which will allow access to foreign based services.

I have a getflix account and that covers you for both Netflix and Hulu. I've had both for over a year now with no drama on Getflix.
Same here. I've got them both as well as HBO GO and they work like a charm with Getflix
Ah Hulu .. if only you didn't have those ridiculous ads, you would be as popular/more popular than Netflix..
They are okay, the one i hate is the "choose your own" that is annoying
