these are the best deals for ski season 2015-2016.

They are SUPER EARLYBIRD & they don't get any better than this.

    • I know it's probably not, but your website does make it look like a scam. It needs a real makeover.

        • +6

If you're not going to take potential clients feedback seriously, then there is not point in you posting here on OZBargain.

I work for a large online travel company, and your website should be first priority. It is your gateway to us (the clients) even if it is just a homepage for info.

It look's like something most of us did as a project in high school in computer class, dodgy looking website. Not even the text format is appealing.

        • @davohatcher: No not at all.

It's just info that can't put in a press advert.

It's not meant to look flash.

We would rather have better deals, than pay for something which isn't going to help our sales.

We used to have a prettier site & it too long to maintain & it didn't bring in more business.

We do something very different, that no one else seems to be doing. We buy blocks of accommodation & blocks of airlines seats in Xmas school holidays, when we know we can easily sell them.

As a result, the resorts & airlines give us better deals as we assume the risks.

This type of thing is huge in USA/Canada & Europe but not in Australia for some reason.

It continually amazes me how many people in business, don't understand the damage a terrible website can do to their brand and thus sales.

        • Bugger, I was convinced they are all webdesigner.

You are the first "serious" travel company worldwide that doesn't want to give away to many details about their offers

        • @PainToad: no, we just use our home page for more info.

We know what we're doing better than most.

        • @dosada: huh ?

          Don't quite understand your comments.

        • @travelwiz:
You can try and dictate to your customers about how YOU think a website should be used for all you want. But it's 2015, the vast majority of customers will see that site and take their business elsewhere. Not trying to be rude, just giving advice.

        • @davohatcher: which online travel company ?

So you like our deals but not our website ?

Is that crazy or what ?

It's really silly to replicate the resort website.

          Go to CopperCOLORADO.com

It has almost everything you want to know on it.

The difference is, most Australians go for 2 or 3 weeks. Most American 2 or 3 days.

So we get much better long stay deals, which are NOT put on their website for obvious reasons (Americans would want them, even though they have much shorter stays on average)

          @travelwiz:
No matter what the price, I wouldn't deal with a company with a website like that. It looks unprofessional and like you are a fly-by-night operation. This is especially true with travel, where you are spending lots of money and may be possibly stranded on the other side of the world with a fake booking.

Now, please understand, I'm not at all suggesting you are in anyway dodgy. You may be a very honest person/company. But in a modern world, a poor online presence can extremely tarnish your image. Spend a few thousand dollars and get a decent site.

        • That's you're choice. Just one potential* customer's opinion.

          • No longer potential customer. You lost me for being kind of a jerk. That's not what I look for in a travel agent…
  • +1

    dodgy at best.

  • +3

no, not putting anymore time in webpage.

If that's how you want to treat your potential customers, then I'm not prepared to be putting any more time into your "deal"

  • REP wow, in a span of 2.5 weeks you posted 7 times already? I'm surprised you're not in the penalty bin.

  • +3

Ask about our the fantastic extras at Copper Mountain like KIDS NIGHT OUT & FREE CAT SKIING !!!

OK. Can you give us more details about the free cat skiing?

Logon to Ozbargain, find dodgey spam for hotels in Colarado. Yeah ok. Who would be dumb enough to organise overseas travel arrangements with a business with the dodgiest website on the internet today. Even if they're legit, would you trust a business who admits they don't care about their image?

  • we've just had a number of emails asking to update our website. Gee wiz.

    There's a fantastic website on Copper Mt. It's www.CopperColorado.com

  • Funnily enough, I contacted the Travelwizz after reading this post! I actually think this bloke represents what Ozbargain is about. He obviously keeps his overheads rock bottom so he can offer better prices than your average Flight Centre who undoubtedly has an amazing website. Trip Advisor is a pretty good stop for checking out whether a particular company is dodgy. Further, the quality of the website can often be a very poor indicator of authenticity (I almost got caught out buying flights last year from a company which had a very, very sophisticated website, it was something like expediatickets…not Expedia).

So, he is not going to capture the entire travel market with his website…generally this is not the marketing objective of any business. This bloke is just selling no frills family ski packages to the U.S. For me, I like dealing with someone that is so specialised in the one thing that they can offer genuine advice to save me money rather than some cursory information they learnt at a travel company training night but they haven't actually been beyond Dubbo Zoo!

It's all about balance. This bloke spends little on his advertising and image but in turn can offer better prices. He has just quoted me fares which are much lower than FC's travel expo fares. When you have three kids any tricks of the trade used to get the price as low as possible are greatly appreciated and often mean the difference between taking the holiday or not.

    • thanks LxpensivE.

Yes, we don't do Bali (in fact we don't do Asia at all) & we don't do Europe anymore.

We specialise in only a few things.

      1) USA/Canada & snow holiday packages there, with or without air from Australia

      2) Queenstown NZ holiday packages

We've been selling snow holidays since 1980 & the team knows above very VERY well.

We have quite a few bookings already for January 2016 to Copper Mt & will almost certainly be putting on express coaches from Denver Airport to Copper twice a week, probably Thu & Sat 7-23 Jan 2016.

Traffic is awful coming from the Mt's back to Denver on Sundays, so avoiding that day (all traffic from virtually all Colorado resorts is funnelled into interstate hwy 70) There's even a website just for interstate 70 traffic.

PS> prebuying airfares in Xmas school holidays, when we know we can sell them, gets us better prices than anyone else, as we take the risk away from the airlines. Don't think anyone else in Australia does this, but it's huge in USA/Canada & Europe.

"LxpensiveE" is obviously a socket puppet account of travelwiz. Very deceptive behavior. After this I will now Neg. This user should be banned.

      • -1

Just because I have something positive to say I must be a "socket puppet"? Glad I won't be bumping into you at Copper Mountain!
It's equally ludicrous to suggest you ought to be banned because you made a negative vote (probably because you are a competitor). Everyone is entitled to an opinion. I'm a positive person that looks for good. I'm sorry for you that you choose to be negative.

        • +1

Sure, sure travelwiz. Oh sorry "LxpensiveE".

      • I'd be inclined to agree, had their first post (the day they joined) been completely unrelated to kisstravel/Travelwiz: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/182003
Just a happy customer it seems, and clearly the type of customer travelwiz is targeting.

Although I still think the benefit of making the website a little nicer would far outweigh the minimal cost to do so. But that's just me…

        • And it's just a coincidence he joined last week and posted about skiing in the US (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/182366), to which travelwiz miraculously happened to respond to within minutes of the forum post?

Mods, surely you can check the users' IP addresses.

        • @PainToad:
travelwiz has been pretty active on the travel forum lately. Responding to month-old threads a well for whatever reason. Not such a coincidence.

        • You are probably right about the website…LOL, I just hate seeing someone bullied over something like that when they are trying to make a go of it in a competitive industry. In most things now the big boys take over, like Woolies, Bunnings etc and it is hard to get good knowledgeable service or decent discounts. I have been looking at airfares to the U.S. for ages and none of my google searches even led me to the website, so it seems this bloke just markets in other ways and places less emphasis on his website. I just wanted to add something positive in light of all the negativity which seemed to flow from your first post (which wasn't horrible or offensive like some that followed). He really was able to offer me a better airline and price than my local FC.

        • @LxpensiveE: maybe we should do away with website all together & just refer people to Copper MT's site ?

Think we've said this before, but our airfares to USA, can't even be found in online search engine sites + there are wholesale fares, which must be sold in conjunction with accom.
