Have checked usual sites, this is the cheapest deal around. These guys ran this same deal before end of last year - thankfully prices haven’t gone up given AUD has tanked nearly 10c against USD since.

Lastly, not sure when this deal is on till, I was looking for one and checked previous deals on OzBargain to find this. If anyone finds out please let me know and I’ll update the deal. Thanks.
Edit - Changed title to include D9.

        RT-AC68U AC1900 Router only

        • +3

          need a RT-AC68U AC1900 Router

        • @koole:

What is a good recommended modem to mate to the RT-AC68U?

I have a Billion 7800NXL which has been slowly dying, so there is appeal in buying the DSL-AC68U but it's cheaper to get the RT + Modem so I'm wondering if theres a recommended path to take on that?

        • @Click_It:

I have no personal experience, but tp link w8960n is very often recommended on whirlpool, and only costs ~$40.

        • @Click_It:
I have cable so not sure about the ADSL modem.

      • +2

        I'm keen for a RT-AC68U

      • I'm potentially interested in either depending on the price you can do.

        RT-AC68U for <$199 is good.

I'd like the DSL-AC68U but it seems to be +$80, and I can get a modem for $35 so I'm not sure it's worth it for me unless you could bridge that pricing more.

      • I was looking at the D9 but I'm now also looking at the DSL-AC68U
If you can get that price down I might just go that way

        • +1

I'm now leaning towards the DSL-AC68U too, I just like having everything in 1. Purchase is a certainly if price can drop a bit.

        • @Click_It:

Fingers crossed it does happen :D

      • AC68U would be great

      • I would be interested in either the Asus Modem Router or the Asus Router.

Is the D9 special still on?

  • Does these come only with 1 year warranty?

    • +1

      Three years warranty

  • Isn't it nice that I just bought an Asus router yesterday for more than this?

  • Bought the D9. Awesome deal, thanks! What's a good usb wireless adapter that supports the dual band frequencies?

  • Any extensions to the D9 deal?

    • +4

I ordered one successfully just now.

  • Damn it I just bought a D7 yesterday for $169 from my local PC store…

    • +3

Screw it, D9 purchased, Although it's probably overkill for a <100sqm apartment..
Luckily the D7 is still sealed and going back tomorrow.

      • Definitely overkill.. you would get the same performance from the D5 which is a great unit too and half the price.

  • +3

Nice deal, just snapped up a D9.

  • I lost out on a D7 on eBay. I knew waiting it out for a discount was the right move.

  • +1

Just bought the D9 to replace my aging 7800n.

  • Hi guys,

I have an iiNet Bob Lite (or similar) router in my house with ADSL2+. Recently, our devices have had trouble connecting to the network due to the other devices that may share the same IP address with another device. It is quite frustrating and upon calling iiNet they instructed to assign static IPs so they don't cross paths again but I am not too keen to go down that road.

However, if I buy one of these routers would that be an ideal solution? Which one should I be looking at for a household of with 30+ or so devices?

Extended range/maybe speed would be a bonus.

Any replies would be greatly appreciated!

edit: The Bob modem/router is used for our home phone via VoIP.

I would be interested in DSL-AC68U AC1900 Modem Router

  • A router usually gets fairly hot. Why don't they have ventilation on the top?

  • +1

Ordered an Archer D9, thanks very much for the deal! Loving the fact I can claim a bonus nc200 wireless camera from TP-Link too.

  • Bought a D7 in the last deal and i'm liking it so far. 2.4GHZ WiFi for the housemates, 5GHZ hidden just for me :).

  • drat, D7 no longer $139. Should've seen this deal earlier :(

    • +3

Bugger. Rep, can the deal be extended a little further? I wanted to get it for me mum.

  • +2

    Hi Davidc,

Are you able to extend this deal?

    Thanks

  • +2

code not working for D9 ?

  • +1

Guys, The code OZBARGAIND9 is still working. Make sure you log into your account before applying the code. Thanks.

    • +1

So D7 is no longer at special price?

      • Nah. Rep confirmed that promotion has finished. :( Sorry, mum.

  • +1

Anyone know what the quality is like on these nc200 cameras… from the specs it seems to be quite poor (20fps at 800x600). Is there anything better out there?

  • never mind

  • Great service from these guys

  • +2

The code OZBARGAIND9 no longer works. Any chance of extending this offer?

  • Damn, missed out. Rep would you be extending this offer? Or having any ASUS DSL-AC68U promotion?

  • damn code doesn't work… will this offer be extended?

    • Nope, mentioned earlier deal is over. I'm hoping they do the ASUS DSL-AC68U, that's what I really want now. And need it NOW lol.

      • +2

        Actually scratch that!

Just realised the DSL-AC68U is a terrible choice for long distance (high attenuation) lines.

The Archer D9 is a much better choice, wish I knew that earlier. Would love to snap up one if this deal can be extended (lol).

I was just about to purchase this but had to clarify if this would work with my setup! Please Wireless 1 can you extend this for one more day!!!!

  • +1

I got my D9 today. It works great!

    • Okay, despite what I said earlier, I'm having some major issues in regards to port forwarding. Currently trying to work it out with TP-Link support. :\

  • Seems like missed on the deal for the D9 (despite logged in…code not working any more now)…any chance it would be extended or need to seek if any deal comes up for DSL-ac68u.

  • +1

The deal for the D9 is back guys: $199. Hurry up! :)

    • Can't find it :( only D7. could somebody mark the main differences between D7 & D9?

      • +1

Very similar but the D9 has superior WiFi strength and range if that is important to you. Also better for more devices if you have many in your house.

        • thank you very much, then i'll wait for another deal for the D9, hopefully soon.

        • +1

          @Super8Tab:

You won't be alone. Though I only have about 2 more weeks to wait before I have to pull the trigger. Instant business for Wireless1 if they return the special or even come close, otherwise instant business for one of their competitors if no price movement.

  • Waiting for D9 repeat too. Not willing to budge until it's $199 though.

  • I too am waiting for a deal on D9.

    • are you still waiting for a deal on D9 ??

      • Yes, I am. :)

  • Yes I am. :)

    • Hi Ronney, which one is better TP-Link D9 or Asus DSL-AC68U

  • Is the D9 deal still current? I see above that the D7 deal has expired, but I was after a D9 anyway and can't get the D9 code to work.
