So what are you paying for with IceTV…? Just an App ? O.o
Its TV Guide data for compatible devices. I used it for years with my HTPC until the OTA guide improved. Its still better though as they tag reruns and episodes and such correctly and dont "accidently" mislabel episodes.
For some devices that are compatible you can also schedule recordings through their app/website and your device picks that up remotely.
"they tag reruns and episodes and such correctly"
I would have to disagree there and in fact the service is getting less accurate all the time. Yes they do flag repeats, which the FTA EPG does not, however the FTA EPG is more accurate in every other respect, including start/stop times.
It works with portable devices - but I just use it with the desktop and the recorders. An Ap? - I guess soo… it gives you a very useful program guide (much better than any other I've seen), with the ability to search for programs, record existing programs, record something that may come up in the future… as well as deal with a number of PVRs at the same time.
The missus has her recorder and can do her stuff with an iphone, and I have mine completely separate.
Just an app.. yep, but one I wouldn't be without… I've been using it since 2010
oops - like he said ^^^^^^

Use code JimsSubscription for the following:
1 year for $49.50 (5 devices)
5 years for $124.50 (5 devices)
Lifetime for $84.50 (1 device)
corrrrr
Damn… lifetime is mint!
I thought it was only avail with their PVRs
According to the Jim's link, it is only for Humax. Their lifetime subscriptions have always previously been for an "expected lifetime" of 5 years. The fine print somewhere may impose the same conditions (and probably only for Humax bought from them)
Strange thing is, when you click the link for Lifetime, it lists it as "Lifetime IceTV for 1 x Altech UEC 9600T/Q, Beyonwiz T3 or Humax 7500/7510 recorder (up to 5 years of the recorder's life)", and it's $99…
Ergh… Yeah, I thought it was just humax… but I didn't know about that 5 year crap. Grrr!
Great price at $33 per year, but for me and the way I now use TV, I probably won’t be taking this offer up for the first time. I have 361 days left on current sub.
I will probably buy if for my parents though.
Good Deal - just a fraction better than the 4 years for $145 in May last year
