Must be a new customer of the Amazon Wedding Registry in order to be eligible. Offer valid until 12/31/2015.

Note: There is some question on whether this is targeted or not.

  • Bridal Guide does use BME for their emails so the link is authentic.
  • The email tag (email=YIxvkW5DsfDwTAuVZYBOn4OTTau3SB2h) in the link refers to an individual subscriber so whether they cross reference the subscriber with the Amazon registry is up to them.
  • Sample Bridal Guide newsletter showing different email tag.

Cheers, done, lets see if this happens :)

  • Let's get married!

  • How to "add an item to your new registry"?

    • +3

Instead of add to cart there is an option to add to wedding registry.

  • Hi neil. I'm sure I read somewhere earlier, that if you're creating a registry from outside the US, you need to ensure you select an item/s that can be shipped to your country to be eligible for the offer. Can't for the life of me find that link now.

I spoke to amazon yesterday and they know nothing about the promotion

The link posted on bridalguide.com is a affiliate link so they are most likely after referral credit and you probably wont get a $20 card.

I think its a scam on behalf of bridalguide. I did register yesterday (when i was made aware of the promo) ang got no confirmation of the promo from amazon not bridal guide.

If you also look at the original link, it has "email=" in it which suggests that it also may be targeted to certain customers and this just got leaked out by deleting the email address part from the link

This is a sample of the original link that was sent to select people

Yep, lots of unknowns. We'll wait and see. Feel free to negative vote.

Slickdeals says the same as you.

Its targeted neil and you can see by the link i posted

        bridalguide.bmetrack.com/c/v?e=63F106&c=27A90&l=266FDD8&email=Yd%2FHqrAAanKmMgt1KA79t5KPYjJSpe52&relid

        • Mine says bridalguide.bmetrack.com/c/l?u=4CAFB22&e=63F106&c=27A90&t=0&email=YIxvkW5DsfDwTAuVZYBOn4OTTau3SB2h

The email tag is being randomly generated.

          EDIT: Clarity

        • @neil:

Randomly generated and code specific for each unique email address.

If your email address is not in the database, you wont get a unique link

The email tag is being randomly generated.

Incorrect, I also got the same redirect link as you posted when clicking your deal link (email=YIxvkW5DsfDwTAuVZYBOn4OTTau3SB2h) . Screen shot proof

email=Yd%2FHqrAAanKmMgt1KA79t5KPYjJSpe52&relid is the unique link for the person who posted it here http://freesamplemonkey.com/samples/free-20-amazon-gift-card…

This is why i didn't post the deal when i saw it yesterday

          @easternculture:

I guess the question is how are they tracking it.

          • Bridal Magazine can see whether Bob Smith or Jane Do has clicked through to Amazon via BME tracking. What they can't see is if they have added 1 item to the Wedding Registry. So maybe they don't check the 2nd step?

          • Amazon can see if you have added 1 item to your registry however unless they are using the &tag affiliate url to determine who came from Bridal Mag, then they won't know.

If we assume the 1st and then this is targeted and no one will get the gift card.
If we assume the 2nd scenario then the deal should be OK.

However, the 2nd scenario seems unlikely as I've never seen Amazon do something like that. If they did, they would do something on their own site and it would be immediate per other deals posted here.

I think it might be the case of 1 and they "suggest" adding something to the registry.

My 2 cents. I've forwarded this to the mods (inappropriate for a mod to mod own deal).

  • Subbed.. awaiting confirmation that this works before proceeding!

Amazon is a great place for a wedding registry

Except when half the items wont ship to Aus. lol

    • You mean Nineteen Twentieths.

  • +2

The email tag (email=YIxvkW5DsfDwTAuVZYBOn4OTTau3SB2h) in the link may refer to targeted subscribers.

That email tag is for one customer. Each customer of Bridalguide will have their own unique email tag for the promotion. And bridal guide will be able to see that via their tracking system

  • when does voucher come

    • +2

read my comments. You wont be getting one. Just a waste of time

      • Got mine today :)

    • when Santa thinks you've been a good little boy…lol

  • Done!
    Thanks!

Sorry, but from the evidence from Slickdeals / EC I'm going to have to call this one an error at best. Reported it to Amazon since I think they'd get pretty pissy about leeching referral credit.

    • Narcing didn't work. Got my $20.

  • Be prepared for complaints/whinging when Amazon doesn't honour this with people using another persons targeted offer link.

  • As it looks like the offer may be targeted and may not be honoured, this deal will be unpublished.

  • Have republished this post.

Looks like people are starting to receive their gift card.

  • Yep once again cheers Neil :)

Interesting reading the other pages, they'd written it off same as we had! :)

  • I got mine! wooo Free $USD, that never expires!

  • Got mine too. Awesome that it's USD rather than AUD!

  • Just got mine too

  • Thanks a million neil!! Got mine an hour ago. They even congratulated me on my engagement LOL. Now, what to buy :)

  • I haven't got mine yet.

    :(

    Hopefully it still may come!
