The title says it all. A 1920 x 1080 24" monitor delivered for $200.

Has DVI and HDMI inputs. The E2400HD shown here http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/17985 looks like a nicer built BenQ for an additional $30 plus delivery, but I think the specs for the screen are about the same.

If you're looking for a new monitor, and can't pick up from a store, this is about as good as it gets IMHO.

  • OK just bought one. Cant wait to get rid of my 17" LCD with this baby. I just hope it doesn't come with a dead pixel. Its not too bad since it is free shipping so if I had to ship it out to them to get a replacement it would just cost the same if it wasn't free shipping.

    Whats the warranty on this anyway? 1 year? (should be by law)

    • Well, since this dead pixel issue sounds common with this model, youre second one might also have a dead pixel. Plus it's a bit of work/time packaging the thing to send it back to the shop. It's more beneficial for nearby pickup.

  • I ordered around 3am the day it launched (late night impulse buy) and it's now saying shipped. Should be here tomorrow, can't wait.

    Will take some snaps of it and comment on dead pixels if any. I'm sure it will be fine.

    Would be a good exercise to create a forum post regarding dead pixels, I reckon practically none of us will get 'em. In fact numbers from 9289 would be even better :)

      I suppose it's you-get-what-you-pay-for. I've learned to be patient with bargains - after all, more staff costs more money… I'd rather get cheaper prices and wait a little bit longer (who here loves dealextreme?). Of course, in an ideal world, I'd be able to get cheaper prices with excellent customer service, but we don't live in an ideal world!

      If you needed it quick, there's always Harvey Norman or Harris. :)

    But the lady said (paraphrased) that dispatched doesn't mean it'll arrive the next day and that we should call them and quote the order number to find out.

    Though i thnk they should really dispatch the orders that were actually ordered first!

    Just received my monitor then!

    Unpacked and posting with it now :)

    Very quick delivery, excellent job as usual 9289. Ordered Monday morning, delivered by Wednesday (used PayPal).

    Well, the monitor is big, not exactly 'omg big' as I am upgrading from a 22" 16:10, but still big. It's bright, has an even back light (MUCH better than my older unit - little bleeding) and the colours are so vivid! I am still using a specfic profile from my old monitor so the BenQ hasn't been calibrated yet but it looks absolutely awesome as it is now. I am noticing so many subtle changes in colours I didn't with the older unit, so this is really nice for a cheap TN panel.

    Dead pixels? What dead pixels :) Unit is flawless. Just did a black background in MS Paint and hit full screen, worked fine.

    The real kicker is 16:9 content though. Watching some previously recorded HDTV on the PC, the difference is immeasurable. No black bars obviously, and the picture is just stunning.

    Still a lot of tesing/calibration to do but I'm very happy with it out of the box.

    • Just following up from my post earlier today. I have noticed about 0.5 cm of backlight bleeding at the top of the screen (going from left to right) and a little less at the bottom of the screen when the screen is fully black. It's not noticeable at any other time. Watching 16:9 content, etc, impossible to tell.

      My old unit which I was quite happy with had a huge band running vertically in the middle of the screen, annoyed me a lot!

      On the BenQ it isn't so bad because 16:9 content fills the screen fully, and therefore it's unnoticeable, but it becomes slightly noticeable when you've got black over the affected area.

      Anyway, quality still comes at a price. Until you hit the nice 8-bit IPS panels there's not much in between, IMO. For $199 you get a monitor that is great at HD playback and great for gaming especially with consoles.

      Would like to know if anyone else is experiencing the backlight bleeding I've mentioned. It's not excessive or blinding (and I can't think of a monitor I've owned in recent times that didn't have it) but I would like to see what others have to say about it.

      • Yeah i've got the same bleeding. It is MINOR but it is noticeable when you're watching dark scenes or music concerts.

    I was given a tracing number… but surprise surprise the tracing number didn't work.

    They need to work on their customer service.

    • Is that possibly because it hasn't been scanned in by fastway yet?
      From experience sometimes courier companies don't actually scan them as much as they should..

    "Due to the overwhelming demand of the LCD, we apologize if there is any delay of delivery.

    We will try our best to ship all the LCD in "deal of week" before coming Monday afternoon."

    • You can see all the orders when you sign into your 9289 account (i am sure this is enough should you need warranty)

      Every now and again they seem to forget to email me the tax invoice with the tracking number however if you ask for it i am sure they swill send you a copy

    I was reading a word document with my new 24 inch monitor

    And i noticed that 3 lines on the page were slightly blurred.

    So i double checked it with hotmail and other websites and there is 3 lines on the monitor - 1 at the top mid and around the bottom that is slightly blurred.

    It's nothing too bad but i'm sure it'll get annoying after a while

    • Have you tried another cable?

    • Also do you have latest graphics card drivers?

      Maybe try it with a ps3 or xbox360 if you have one to see if its the computers fault

    • Definitely double check the cable - especially if it's VGA (the blue one) you're using. Try using DVI or HDMI.

      If you can, please take a photo for us and we can help you out.

      There is no reason why it should be blurry, mine definitely isn't, and I wouldn't put up with it either!

        It doesnt work when i take a photo - doesn't really show it properly due to my camera not being a DSLR.

        Basically as i was doing my assignment i realised that some lines in my essay were a bit blurry (no its not my eyes) so i decided to test it and move my word document up and down. The result was at least 17 lines in my word document was slightly blurred.

        You would have to look at it 30-45 cm which is normal viewing to realise it. But 60 cm away you can't really tell.

        I have no idea what the problem is…
        I've been doing my assignment all day and it's sort of getting annoying. Not sure to the point of me actually doing anything about it.

        Any help?

        • I opened a picture of my dog on full view and i can't notice it at all.

          It's mainly for microsoft word documents or even websites like this.

          • @vsia2165: Probably a silly suggestions, but have you made sure you are using the right resolution, i.e 1920 X 1080?

      While I do appreciate the up-front nature of your customer service, it really isn't good enough that we are waiting this long.

      Having said that, if you continue to sell quality items at quality prices you won't lose my business, but it really needs to improve..

    I ordered mine on Monday night by direct deposit. I’m not all that fussed by the delivery delay. I think people complaining to Jennica about delivery times need to grow up. The real world isn't perfect - I think people who have ordered the monitor should be extremely grateful for this fantastic deal.       I agree that the price for this monitor is fantastic.

      But in saying that, you can't use the excuse "shit happens" in business. I'm quite happy with how things turned out… only took 4 days for delivery. Though what i wasn't too impressed with the customer service provided by this company.

      3. If no one was home they would return it back to their warehouse plus i would have to pay for delivery (major issue for me as no 1 is home and i needed to know what day they would arrive and she simply stated around this week or early next)

      Anyway i would buy from them again and a fix of the tracking system would make things more efficient for customers and for them - less phone calls and emails etc.

        9289 use Fastway, i am pretty sure fastway do not charge for redelivery.

        If nobody is going to be home then have it sent to your work address, someone will always be there to sign for the package.

        If you want it sent to your home address and you know nobody will be home then print out an ATL form and stick it on your door.

      Agreed, thanks Jennica and 9289! Status is still on 2/5, bought it on the 25th but not really in a rush to get it. I find waiting for things I buy off the net fun, the anticipation to get the item.

      • I'm expecting the monitor to arrive sometime next week. I'd say anything over 2 weeks from receipt of payment would be too long and I'd make further inquiries.

  • I'm really glad mine came as quick as it did, but even if I had to wait, I know the price is ridiculously cheap and I would gladly wait 1 week to get my hands on it. The worst thing is when they say "sorry, no stock and we won't accept your order so we can send it to you later". I think everyone is just eager to get their monitor and that's totally fair enough but with a superb price like this I think a bit of patience is warranted.

    I'm sure all will be forgiven once it arrives though. Still concerned about vsia2165's issue though, I'm not getting any blurry text, just a little backlight bleeding at the top of the monitor, but that's all.

    Ordered my monitor last Sunday, expected perhaps slightly more than the '1-3' days due to demand. Status updated late Thursday, and knew it was coming on Friday. Got a quick call from the Fastway bloke delivering it to check that someone would be home.

    Overall, this went exactly as I imagined, the monitor is in fact 100% as far as I can tell, no dead pixels etc.

  • Adelaide. Ordered last Sunday 1.45. Noted that for credit card payments there would be a delay due to checking for internet fraud. Paid with Paypal. Sunday 25/10 immediately received order confirmation. 27/10 awaiting dispatch. 29/10 Order dispatched. 30/10 Delivered 8.30am. Monitor actually arrived before the Fastway tracking email arrived at 9.30am! I was very happy with the way I was kept informed. The monitor is 100% and what a fantastic deal with free shipping!     • See while it's good to hear a happy story this is what annoys me slightly..

      I ordered a few minutes before you, payed by PayPal and instantly had payment confirmed, therefore mine was probably fully confirmed before you even started your transaction.
      I also live closer to them and therefore quite obviously receive mine first..

      I'm glad some people have got their product and I'm not in anyway upset with those who have, but this is pretty crap on 9289's part..

    "Calling Card Left - Delivery was attempted, the receiver was not available"

    I am sure no one came at that time and even there is no card left in mailbox.

    It is not fair if charge me for rearranging delivery.Very Upset with FASTWAY!

    • I wasn;t charged for redelivery. The courier left a card and called me later on that day and asked if I was free the next day.
