Just got this awesome deal from Gearbest.com. A Wltoys v666, FPV quadcopter, it has approx 8-10min flight time a control distance of about 150m. Very cool beginner first person view platform to start off with. I paid a little more freight to get it quicker. Can not wait to get it

I have had 5 orders through Gearbest and got everything, withDealsmachine I have had an order with them for 3weeks, their page tells me the item is in stock but it isn't. So I have cancelled the order. And they also don't have the V666 in stock as I was told when I messaged them.
I've ordered spare parts for my jjrch8c 5 days ago on gearbest site and as of today status is still processing.
On the same day I ordered some spares for the Syma x5c from banggood and they got dispatched few hours later.Note: Im not associated with Banggood.
I would ask them what's going on. Every site I have found is different, language barrier can sometimes be very difficult
I bought my jjrc h8c off Banggood and at the moment I am in motor discussions with them, other than that they have so far been quite good
My Syma x5c-1 arrived from Gearbest. Took 5 weeks, but that's within what they said it would.
Shipping coming up as $8.15
That's with Ems I think which is really cheap and worth the extra money because it is way quicker to get it.free shipping takes anywhere between 7-25 business days and the 25 days or more is what usually happens.
Hmm mine only showed one option "standard shipping 6-8 business days". No option for free shipping, only option to add insurance for $4.
You are right 6-8 business days which from China is very quick. I was just told by Gearbest online help it was free delivery and it also states that in there listing. I just did the 6-8 business days because it was way quicker.
@Spindoctor: well there is definitely no option for free shipping so you might want to update the title. Must be free shipping to a different country.
Update - if I change my address to a Chinese address shipping is free, but not free to AUS or USA (didn't test others)@Slo20: they have got back to me about the free shipping, the only option is the $8.15usd delivery for 6-8 business days, which is still very cheap and quick. They should have just told me that at the start, instead of saying free shipping, sorry for the muck around, but it's stii a very good deal
GearBest…..
NOT again….not after the Syma X5-1 saga.
If there's a saga, I'd like to hear about it, please!
Quick vid. Makes me want to buy one! Decisions

im so tempted as well but so much money just bought a syma over christmas
I have this quadcoptor. Its really easy to fly and the trick mode makes doing flips and barrel rolls simple. Its just a bit lightweight if the wind picks up.
Does anyone know where I can buy the battery case for this quadcopter? I want to use pre-charged lithium batteries. Thanks
I bought every quadcopter posted in this OzB site! Also just bought a JJRC H8C and contemplating the H9D. I think I'll get this one instead. So many quads and so little time.
I have the jjrch8c, flys well but so far one dodgy transmitter and one dead motor after 8 lipos, so that one is a big ?
Have you got the jjrch8c yet and if you do how is it going?
Been playing with the h8c for a week now. Flown around 15 times. So far so good except battery lasts around 5mins each round. Have also ordered a couple of 7.4v lipos.
Make sure you have got spare motors ordered because that is the only problem with this quad. It's alot of fun to fly though.
Good idea. I shall do that.
@Spindoctor: Do you need spare motors for the H8C or this deal's V666?
@RedHab: it is always suggested to buy spare motors with toy quads . I brought spare motors with my jjrch8c and also the v666. I just don't want to wait another few weeks for motors if I could have bought them at the same time as the quad. The motors for these quads are very cheap.
These are pretty good once you strip off the foam chasis/prop guards. You can then replace the camera with a half decent mobius camera which costs about $90. It's no gopro + gimbal but it's decent.
Also might want to buy spare motors… these WL toys are known to have unreliable motors that conk out easily
Thousands of quads like these eg v262 have been sold and yes spare motors are a must. Lucky the motors are so cheap.
Are these able to take a GoPro hero3?
Maybe, though it would probably would make it very cumbersome.
Maybe might be using 50%+ throttle to keep it afloat.. wouldn't be worth risking a gopro on this. Get one with gps and more power.
I think a gopro would be too much weight for the motors, you could just mod the camera and put a wide angle lens on it.
Hmm… I already have a GoPro and would like to use it, although I had a quick look and something decent like a DJI Phantom thingo runs well over 1k which is a bit out of budget for just getting into the FPV scene.
I've had a bit of a play with a WL V272 from a previous deal - quite challenging to control.
What would you recommend as a decent FPV? I'm thinking one that can be purchased separately from the camera and remote thingy (what's the tech term for this?) Is there a decent one which will pair with the same remote the V272 came with? Budget $500 - $1k?
@highon2str: Get a cheap chinese RTF like Walkera or a Cheerson CX 20 and just attach a fatshark teleporter V3 on it, would cost less than $600. Don't bother with the WL remote, they're worth like $20.
@krisspy: thanks, did a bit of research and seems that the cx20 is pretty good value for money.
If I'm having trouble flying the v272 precisely, in a n average size living room with furniture, is it advisable to upgrade to something more expensive? I imagine the bigger drones are easier to fly?
I see them hovering there in the air with no input whatsoever. Here I am fighting the transmitter and trimming away just to get the v272 to behave.
@highon2str: Those quads have advanced gps/flight controllers on them. So they have extra features like altitude/location locks which essentially make them "smart enough" to know whats going on. That's how they can hover on the spot without any input.
I think you have to decide for yourself if you want to step up to a more expensive fpv/gopro rig. I don't see an issue flying expensive gear in a nice open field lol.
Shots like these always make me want one, but I know I'd drop it in the water within minutes.
Hi read only how do you find the jjr h8c they look quite good.
If you look at Gearbest.com or Banggood.com you will find them.
It was good until last week 2 motors stopped spinning at the same time.
I've just ordered new motors from gearbest (cheaper) but they take forever to ship out. It's be a few days, checked today still shows processing.Where did you buy you're jjrc h8c from?
Banggood. I've been emailing them. It takes 24hrs+ for them to respond, and if I send on Friday then I won't see a response till Monday evening.
I sent a video clearly showing only 2 motors are spinning. They responded saying "it works fine" and that I haven't pushed the throttle high up enough. These people are Crazy! And that Gearbest mob, it's been 5 days and they still haven't shipped my motors.
@ReadOnly: keep trying with Banggood, tell them that on all the forums the jjrc H8 has known motor issues an d you want them replaced or start a PayPal complaint. As with Gearbest get on with their live help and keep asking what's going on.
How about this:
